Admission to the National Institute of Technology (NIT) relies on JEE Mains scores and State Board scores, with seat allocation administered by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The JEE Mains exam, held annually in April, determines eligibility for subsequent admission processes. Placement rates range from 70-90%, with Computer Science and Electronics & Communication graduates often receiving higher packages. Top recruiters include Amazon, Google, and Microsoft. Internships, starting from the third year, are integral, with companies like JP Morgan and L&T offering stipends from 10,000 to 100,000 INR per month.

Numerous scholarships and fee remission options are available for financially disadvantaged students. Families earning less than 1 lakh annually get a full tuition waiver, while those earning between 1 and 5 lakhs receive two-thirds fee remission. The total cost for a 4-year BTech program ranges from 7 to 8 lakhs. However, scholarship opportunities for general category students are limited, and the fees are considered high for a government institution.
