Scholarship: this college have really great facility of scholarships for needy people.
Faculty to student ratio is great and small strength class provide a great personalized experience and teaching to students .

I think that they lag in their way of teaching.

Life At PEC

Likes

What i liked about Punjab Engineering College is its strong emphasis on academic excellence and innivation.
It has a vibrant campus life, with numerous cultural and technical events like PECFEST.
Additionally the institute's rich history and strong alumni network offers valuable connections and support.

Dislikes

The administration process can sometime be slow causing delays and frustration.
Hostels can be improved with better facilities.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The tution fees is the primary expense and varies depending on the program of study. For UG prog. the tution fees are approx 86-94K per sem. Scholarships are merit based, need based, government and institute specific scholarships.

Thinks I liked about my college is placements the placement scenario is very good in my college. There are training and placement cell which is known as cdgc especially for the College placements.
The faculty here is very good. You will get experienced faculty for each and every subject having a very deep learning of all the concepts
The campus is somewhat ok you will get money clubs to join and to explore your college life

Dislikes

Hostel condition especially for the first year hostel which is provided that is Shivalik hostel is worst
Mess food is also bad. The fees for the mess food is too high. You have to pay 3600 monthly for the mess food
Hostel fees is also very high it's around 76900 yearly

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is was quite well before 2023 after 2023 because of recession the placement sucks. Students become eligible for internship in their third year that is 6 semester many software companies like Google Microsoft Apple visit in our college for software engineers companies like mckinse Boston consulting services Bane and company American express JP Morgan visits too. This year 53.2 %students got placed

PEC Chandigarh College Review

Well connected to city of Chandigarh, not in some outskirts, has a beautiful infrastructure and gardens with variety of flowers, it has good sports facilities like volleyball, tennis, badminton, Gymkhana. We also get our own dispensary for medicines.
Regarding placements PEC received a remarkable placement offers due to a good Alumini base it has even when the job markets were down, there are various clubs in college which would shape your personality and I would highly recommend this college.

Dislikes

Chandigarh as a city is very expensive and disciplined so almost no fast food shops are there on roadside. The teachers majority of them are not interested whether you attend class or not few teachers are exceptions. Many festivals are not celebrated

Placement Experience:

The placements of the college are quite good in my perspective. In the 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. There were many companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Amex, ITC, Airtel,Tata Motors, Jindal Steel, IBM and many more There were around 250-275 offers by companies, (some of them were PPOs - pre-placement offers). The average package was around 12 Lpa for the 23 batch. My plans after getting the degree are to get a job or get admission to a B-school doing an MBA.

PEC:1 to 100 all you need to know

Likes

Placements in PEC are very good even in low placement season going on throughout the country the college is doing good
103 yrs old college,making it one of the oldest and having a very strong alumni network which helps in Connection making in almost all departments
Variety of clubs,socities present in the campus making cocurriculur strong for students

Dislikes

Being 103yrs old the campus needs maintenance which is a issue
Curfew timings are there and no night canteen
Hostel condition is not so good n mess food is the worst

Placement Experience:

5th semester is the time when one gets chance to get intership and throughout 7th semester placements starts all in the campus itself. More than 100+ companies visit campus every year giving more than 800 offers to the students. This year 2024 highest package was of 54LPA which was less than last year's 81LPA but the average has improved from 15LPA to 18.5LPA Almost 71% students got placed. I m currently thinking about the placements in the campus only.

The basic structure on which college runs and perform is great to be admire
Different fields and research keeps going on giving students the opportunity to enhance their skills
New and latest technological advancement in fields have been introduced which allows student to focus and enhance in particular field

Their have been few irregularities that cannot be denied

The circulum been presented has great influence for the students experience and development of skills however their some insight to work upon which allows the irregularities to interfere in easy going circulum.

I liked the environment of the college. People are really friendly
Placement are good. Median package is around 17 lakh
There are lot co curricular activities also which leads to overall child development

Dislikes

Staff is not so good. They take extra classes and non of the things they explain are clear
Hostel conditions are not at all good especially for boys
College infrastructure is poor and that's why nirf ranking is low

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are really good if the college as I previously mentioned . They are really good from 7th semester companies start coming . But interns are hired in 5th sem only . There is a good percentage of students getting placed around (60%). Highest package was around 84 lacs and avarage package is around 17 lacks good package

Punjab Engineering College

Amazing campus experience with nature playing a great role.
Good people to be around with amazing seniors.
Great in campus markets, Dispensary and great connectivity with the city.

Dislikes

Faculty culture is bad and they are not motivated to teach and inspire students, the only way students can learn is through self learning. Though there are great professors, they are out numbered by the basically useless professors.
The administration is totally useless and they are only interested in troubling students and delaying work as much as possible.
The conditions of the infrastructure of the hostels, labs and lecture halls is in shams, the fee and the quality of infrastructure is basically inversely proportional.

Placement Experience:

There are Internship Cycle (5th sem) and Placement cycle (6th and 7th Sem). usually 50percent of the students find internships quite easily and from big companies like JP MORGAN, Air Bus, McKinsey JCB, Tata, Microsoft, Phone pe and many other. The placements are majorly based on the PPO from these companies and more over some students are placed afterwards as well.

My first impression about my college.

Likes

Faculty is good and helpful. They are very qualified and knowledgeable
Placements are one of the main aspects of the college
Wi-Fi labs and classroom facilities are decent

Dislikes

The director and some HOD are strict but they are manageable
Academics is too difficult like you have to study yourselves

Course Curriculum Overview:

Like I am interested in civil engineering that's why I chose this course. Faculty student ratio is decent. Faculty are very experienced in his field. There was basically two exams in one semester mid sem and end sem.

Likes

PEC provides amazing campus life and with a lot of active clubs and societies
Located in Chandigarh is a great advantage for exploration.
Have a great placement record and faculty .

Dislikes

Gender ratio is not good and many students were dissatisfied with it .
Administration is slow and does not listen to students .
Sports activity is not encouraged and practical knowledge is very less.

Placement Experience:

Campus Placements for CSE,ECE and electrical is quite good . But for Non-circuital branches is not good like mech , production , mettalurgy . Average pakage is around 10LPA and 60-70% placement rate .

Placement is one of the best in the areas.even in core branchs like production and mechanical, placements are very impressive.
Internship offered are also great and 6 months reserved for internship is great opportunity for ppo's

Dislikes

Sports facilities are of cheap quality. Gym is very old and other similar facilities
Library is not 24 hours are even 12 hours
Fees is slightly on a higher note as compared to infrastructure of the college. Infrastructure needs to be improved very much.

Placement Experience:

Ending of 4 th semester internships will be offered for the students and 6th semester is reserved for internships or projects. ppo's will be offered at the end of internships and placement will get started from the 7th semester onwards.
