- Here the faculty is very nice they are ready help when students need there help
- Here placements is so good and many top companies are approaching to the college students here having good opportunity for the placements average placements is about 13lakhs per annual combining all branches
- Many scholarships like fcc, nsp and others are student welfare related and do help the students alot.
Dislikes
- Scholarship are there for weak section of society.. my fees is somewhat between 140000 to 150000 years as i didn't receive any scholarship or anything.
- The hostel facility is not that great, there is a food problem in terms of taste and water problem in terms of hygiene, there are some issues with the internet also.
- The attendance criteria is really strict and the behaviour of the professors are not good

- Mess Facility is good and there are so many canteens and food stalls you can have those too
- The placement opportunities are good for branches like CSE and EIE

Placement Experience:
Students are eligible to participate for Internship placements from 3rd year and FTE offer from 4th year starting. Overall the placements scenarios are pretty good considering it to be a NIT. The overall highest package goes to around 80 lac plus and the average package lies around 18 to 20 lac for CSE Department. The opportunities are great with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia coming for on campus opportunities providing agreat experience

- Green campus and beautiful environment with clean
- Faculty that explains in that a good manner and good understanding.They can also explain even personly
- Transport facility from hostel to classes and campus to city

- Some discrimination among students about region and category, language etc
- Class that contains around 80 members is very overload for faculty and students because it effects the interaction between both
- Lack of quality of infrastructure in classes but just small update needed

The course curriculum is good i think that has a plan that is good for teaching and understanding by students and that includes plan for preparation of students for maintenance of good performance and cgpa

- Diverse student community - Since it is a national institute students come from all over India .
- placement opportunities are good - NIT Silchar gives good placement opportunities for the graduating students .
- Research opportunities - Nit silchar gives good research facilities to the students.
Dislikes
- The location of NIT silchar is remote therefore there are some difficulties in transportation.
- The weather of nit silchar is quite hot due to high humidity.
- Since Nit silchar is an old nit of india that's why it's infrastructure is not that much good as compared to other new nits.
Course Curriculum Overview:
There are 6 branches in nit silchar ,those are CSE ,ECE,EIE,EE,ME and CE .
In the 1st year the course curriculum of CSE,ECE and EE is same while EIE,ME and EE have same curriculum . In 1st year students have to study basic introduction programming(C language), chemistry , Evs , physics , Basic electrical engineering , mechanics , maths , engineering drwaing , basic electronics , communicative english , mechanical workshop etc.

- The campus is quite spacy, lush and green, boasting an area of approximately 625 acres.
- The commodities and facilities offered towards sports are quite satisfactory. The Sports Complex houses various courts for badminton, kabbadi, table tennis, chess etc. Multiple grounds for sports like cricket, basketball, football are also present.
- Most of the faculty assigned to the theoretical courses are quite competent and can explain the content well.
Dislikes
- Classrooms, at least for the first years, are not air conditioned, which makes it intolerable during Summers.
- Laboratory courses are not upto the mark. Teachers assigned are either very good or are utterly the worst and there's no in between. Things were asked in the viva which were not covered in the regular lab classes.
- Hostel rooms are not consistently maintained. Some are in refurbished conditions yet most are in a very bad state.
Course Curriculum Overview:
Personally, the BTech course followed all over India is quite outdated. Courses like Mechanical Workshop, where a CSE grad has no conceivable scope, are yet forced upon the students. There's a need to put personal effort in learning all the essential and relevant topics by ourselves using all resources but the ones provided by the college and it's curriculum.
While there has been a big improvement in CSE course, where relevant practice sheets are being handed to prepare students industrially, what brings it down is the inclusion of the said unnecessary courses. And this not a college level issue, rather the Government needs to update the policies.

- I like the college very much , it has the best environment I've seen anywhere, the faculty is good nd supports in any doubts or criteria. There's a Library which i like the coz it have large collection of books, from where we can learn a lot .
- The playground nd the sports club are the best , they support new comers nd cheer them up . There students and seniors are more cooperative and helps alot , about the placement,its average package is good . There are many clubs in college which help
- Student to improve skills, development, guide them to right path , vocal skills nd they also do hackathon which let us to experience more and more though we learn more and take a step forward to our goal .
Dislikes
- The things i disliked about college is its infrastructure and classes, i think that classes should be more digital which can help students to learn more efficiently and thourly.
- The boys ratio is more compared to girls as the generation is more careful about girls which doesn't led them grow and led for their higher studies, ig this mindset should be changed and let others girl who are less educated and want to study, listen
- To them and let them forward their step toward it , which can help to maintain ratio coz I've seen un engineering college, the ratio of girls are always less .nd about mess it lit nothing to say furthur .
Placement Experience:
From the semester 6/7 the students are eligible for the placements before that its offers internships . The companies are google, Microsoft, tata and many more other companies visits and no of offers made to te student who's having good cgpa but I've complain like the person having less cgpa why don't they seat in companies interview, its unfair. I've i would be the one among them i would go tobthe skills of the student not comparing on the basis of their academic or cgpa . Although I'm in 2nd sem let's see what happens further.

- Most of the faculties are good. They teach us very well.
- The campus is very good and the natural scenery is excellent. We can see whole greenery there
- The infrastructure in college is also very good.
Dislikes
- Very less girl to boy ratio. There are only 10-20 girls in each class whereas 50-60 boys.
- Some teachers are really rude. They just enjoy bullying students.
- The transportation to our college is not so good.
Placement Experience:
Students become eligible from 7th semester. Many companies visits our college including Microsoft, Amazon, Google and they provided many offers.
NIT Silchar has showcased impressive placement results across various branches. In the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch, the highest package reached INR 80 LPA, with an average package of INR 24.07 LPA. For Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), the highest offer was INR 52.8 LPA, while the average stood at INR 17.05 LPA. Electrical Engineering (EE) students secured a highest package of INR 52.8 LPA, with an average of INR 12.38 LPA.
In Mechanical Engineering (ME), the highest package offered was INR 45.5 LPA, and the average package was INR 9.82 LPA. The Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (EIE) branch recorded a highest package of INR 33.2 LPA and an average of INR 14.27 LPA. Lastly, Civil Engineering (CE) students secured a highest package of INR 28.8 LPA, with an average of INR 8.87 LPA.

- Seniors are very helpful and very chill. They are more like big brothers and sisters.
- Placements are very good and consistent, which gives it an edge over other colleges.
- Some of our professors are very chill about attendance and all, and even they are very good at delivering lectures.
Dislikes
- Classroom Infrastructure can be improved a bit.
Placement Experience:
Placements of National Institute of Technology, Silchar is it's USP. Even in CoVID, it was able to keep the average package 19.01LPA, and median package 14LPA. After CoVID, placements have improved in the college. This year, a lot of seniors have made it to Google Internships and all. Other than Camus placements also, it has got great job oppurtunities as the alumni network is strong.

- Our college Library is very awesome, i was not expecting that our library would be so large and beautiful.
- Our CS professor is extremly good . He made the c language so easy and interesting.I have not seen a teacher like him in my whole school life.
- Our campus is literally very vast and full of greenery it gives you the feel that you are so connected to the nature. It has 23 lakes and 600 acres of campus area
Dislikes
- Securing good marks is tough in my college you really have to do hardcore study.
- The classrooms could have ac's. There are no ac's in our class rooms
- I don't like the mess food there but it depends on choice many of my friends like the food.

The placements are good in my college.
Around 200 companies visisted and 600 offers was made in 2024. Recruiters was amazon, microsoft, goldman sachs, infosis,google and many more.
The highest pakage was 80 lpa in CSE and median was 24 lpa.

- I have liked the academic culture of my couse that the individual class are there as well as there is tutorial class in which teacher tooks the students doubt and resolve it
- Professor are so kind they helps how to handle new things it's my first yera so gave us there contact no and told us that we can call them whenever we need to ask for something related to academics
- Obe thing i like is placement and it is the reason why i chose nit Silchar the placement is very awesome and seniors also helps us to code
Dislikes
- I don't have things about the college but the atmosphere is there is very moisturous which feels very bad and itchy
- There is a thing which i want to share that there is a library which is called biggest digital library in the asia but i feel very dissapointed about that there is nothing digital in the Library as well as there is no computer in the library ac's doe
- Ac's doesn't works properly in the library and in the classes when it's rain the water is running in the classes which feels so disappointed 😔
Placement Experience:
The placement of my college is very good. I choose my college because of only the reason I choose my college is the placement for CSE branch the average package 24 lakhs and the highest package is 82 lakhs in 2023 and four ece branch the average package is 18 lakhs students mostly choose C++ language because most of the seniors says that C++ is very often language to learn. DSA there are all the companies like Google, Microsoft
infosys apple linkedin wipro and all the famous companies they ask questions regarding the dsa

- i love the nature, location,environment and the atmosphere of our campus. pin drop silence and pleasant climate is seen as our campus is in the outskirts of silchar but not in themiddle of a busy town area.
- socially we are very diverse and south indian northindian and northeastern ratio is almost same and we all live peacefully
- library is the main attraction of our campus it's the largest digital librabry amoung all nits
Dislikes
- syllabus is a lil bit out dated and the faculty can be more engaging while they are teaching in the class
- male female ratio is poor here and clubs and societies are not diverse
- too many students in a class makes it difficult for teachers

4.90% students get placed for sure
6.highest in 2023 was 56lpa and least was 6lpa
