- Courses and faculty - course are interesting and faculty is very enthusiastic and have great knowledge and have helping nature polite
- Scholarships like merit-cum-means and institute free studentship are available based on merit and financial need.
- Iit guwahati is renowned not only for its academic excellence but also for the picturesque beauty for its campus, making it one the most aesthetically pleasing educational instituitions in india.
Dislikes
- Gate was entrance exam for this course.i found the application form and details in iitg website only.reservation is available but i am not eligible for that .exams are so difficult .it is so much difficult
- Hostel mess food is very bad, and very less food outlets
- The heavy workload, with assignments, projects, and exams, stress students. balancing studies with extracurriculars and personal life is be tough.

- There is not so much thing to dislike but 1 thing mostly people dislike is that guwahati is not a urban city
- Exams are actually very tough and sometimes it actually demotivating.
- The old hostels infrastructure is not very good
Placement Experience:
Placements are decent in my branch. But in recent times there is a dip in coming companies.Average package of my branch is 8 lpa and highest goes around 21 lpa. Almost 80 percent students get placed and others choose phd. My plan is to get a good package job.

- Mess food is good and you will have options. There is canteen and juice corner in every hostel.
- Hostels are maintained and hygiene of bathrooms are also taken care of.
- Offers numerous opportunities for research and innovation, particularly in engineering and technology.
Dislikes
- Faculties are very strict about attendance.
- Being located in the Northeast, it is relatively far from major metropolitan hubs, making travel and industry exposure slightly inconvenient. Limited direct connectivity to some regions in India.

- The culture of IITG are I like the most and environment was so beautiful
- Hostel food was sooo good and professors are very friendly
- In this collage there is no ragging.even the seniors are so friendly
Dislikes
- Climatic changes and so much of humidity
- Distance between hostel and class room nearly 1.5km
- Language problem so many are speaking Hindi
Course Curriculum Overview:
In IITG course curriculum was good .every 3 months we have a sem exams before that 1 midsem is there and after completing the chapter we have quizzes and every week they give assignments. I have suggested to give less assignments

- Institute boasts modern infrastructure including well equipped labs, advanced research facilities.
- hostels are well maintain with good facilities providing wifi facility, good cleanliness environment.

- the heavy course load can sometimes be overwelming leading to stress and burnout.
- Increased opportunities for internship and hanod on experience in the industry.

The course curriculum is well structured and highly relevant providing comprehensive of key topics.The curriculum effectively prepares for real worls application and further academics opportunities to gain some knowledge.

- Atleast electric vehicle should be allowed for the students
Placement Experience:
Mtech students Are eligible for the placement in there 2nd year.
Almost 400+ companies visited this year for placement here 2023-24 batch. 824 student till date are placed out of 1400 students.
Highest package domestic was 1cr and international was 2.4 cr for this placement 2023-24 season.
76% of the students got placed this year.
To join the job as I got placed in SCA technologies

Placement Experience:
Placements at IIT Guwahati are good enough to get you placed. All you need to do is prepare well. As an MTech student if you didn't get placed you can still went for PhD in foreign if you have worked well In your project and your guide is satisfied with your work

- Environment, college campus, transportation facilities offered, by college, availability of electricity almost 24hrs, availability of washing machine and geyser, clean toilet and bathroom
- Dedicated library, stationary shop, juice center and canteen in every hostel, mess facility, cleaning service, complaint portal for repair, LAN availability in every room.
- Availability of almost everything within the campus, food court, Khokha Market which is near the hostel, medical facility.
Dislikes
- lack of space in cycle parking, unavailability of water dispenser near room.
- Rushed classes, Lack of guidance from professors in case of project,
Placement Experience:
My insights will be focussed on M.Tech
A mtech student becomes eligible for campus placements from 3rd semester, as for btech i think its 9th semester.
I can't enlist all of the companies that visited so I will provide a brief list mentioning the sectors of the companies.
1. L&T, Dar Al Handasah, Spectrum, ASEC.(Structural Consultancy)
2. Reliance, Bank of America, Volvo Eicher, Star Cement. (Management)
3. TATA 1mg, Google, Microsoft, Databricks. (IT)
4. Narayana, FITJEE, Pace, PW (Education)

- There is nothing to dislike in our campus
Placement Experience:
The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati has been providing 100% of placements for the past few years, but this year it has just been decent but better than other institutions. Various good companies like google microsoft and Qualcomm visited our campus

- Campus life- There will be lot of fun activities, beautiful campus, good hostels
- Campus placements- good packages and good companies
- Sports- there are a lot of sports facilities available
Dislikes
- internship opportunities are very less compared to other IITs
- Food- As a south indian personally i did not like the north indian food
- Weather- Guwahati is very humid as there is a mighty brahmaputra river just beside the campus
Placement Experience:
From the first semister itself you will be eligible for the internships but the internship opportunities are very less, very less companies have visited for internships
For the Campus placement in the second year very good number of reputed companies like bajaj, TVS, mercedes, TATA, Jindal , GE etc have come with good packages
Highest in core campanies will be around 16 LPA and average will be around 10 LPA
90 percent of the candidates will be placed generally
