Courses and faculty - course are interesting and faculty is very enthusiastic and have great knowledge and have helping nature polite
Scholarships like merit-cum-means and institute free studentship are available based on merit and financial need.
Iit guwahati is renowned not only for its academic excellence but also for the picturesque beauty for its campus, making it one the most aesthetically pleasing educational instituitions in india.

Dislikes

Gate was entrance exam for this course.i found the application form and details in iitg website only.reservation is available but i am not eligible for that .exams are so difficult .it is so much difficult
Hostel mess food is very bad, and very less food outlets
The heavy workload, with assignments, projects, and exams, stress students. balancing studies with extracurriculars and personal life is be tough.

Crisp and clear

Likes

Campus beauty and its facilities, faculties and professors.
Facilities for extra co-curricular activities,
Opportunities IIT provide us in every field to showcase and excel

Dislikes

The frequency of quizes going on as we enter the college
And the test checking is kinda too strict,
Hoping to see our TAs to get lenient with paper checking and give partial marking as well in our papers (specifically Maths)

Placement Experience:

After 6th sem students started to get on-campus placements. The highest package offered domestically is around 1.2 crore in cse branch and about 50 lpa in the chemical branch. About 85 % of chemical branches got placed. My plan is to have a secure job and do something extra side as photography.

A look inside IIT Guwahati

Likes

The mess food is inargubaly one of the best things about the campus which makes living here a very pleasant experience.
The club culture is extremely prevelant and one can have enough opportunities to explore their likes and dislikes.

Dislikes

The college is big! too big! sometimes it becomes hectic to go from one building to other building
There are no AC(s) provided here and in summer the humid temperature makes it very hard to pass by.

Placement Experience:

The placements for IIT Guwahati are excellent, with 99% of people getting placed through college in my department. The MEDIAN salary of entire B.tech degree is 22lpa which is inargubaly one of the best in nations, and the MEDIAN salary of CSE department is around 36lpa. The highest package offered in 2023 was 2.4cr/pa to a 4th year in the CSE department.

The atmosphere and habitat in which our college is located in a north eastern state
Faculty and non teaching staff interaction and dedication towards students
Lovely and relaxing areas provided by our college

Dislikes

It's situated in a very remote like area
Hostels are very old and two in a room is not a thing to like

Placements in our college are one of the finest in our country and companies. Of mnc like Google also do visit our college, highest package will be of order 2cr and avg will be of 25lpa and in cse 95% students get their placements

1st year undergraduate about his college life

Likes

Location of the college which in North eastern states with a breathtaking scenarios
Academic program and responsibilities taken by faculty for students
Facilities provided by college to us like ac,wifi

Dislikes

It's situated in somewhat like a remote area
Hostel rooms are somewhat old and two in a room is difficult one to edjust
1st year academic program is very difficult one particularly maths

Placement Experience:

After 5th semester I think students are eligible for placements, Google, Oyo, etc companies came and the highest package was 2.14cr per annum and the average was 29lpa, in CSE 95%students get placements. after my degree, I am aiming to prepare for the CAT exam

Why you should come IIT Guwahati.

Likes

Amazing college culture, having healthy and improving environment.
No ragging is there , all senior are helpful.
Most beautiful campus in India in the lap of nature.

Dislikes

The exam pattern, too many test and quiz .
The gender ratio is not so good, around 25% students are only girls
In August there is too much hot and humid weather in iitg .

Placement Experience:

Along with the 5th semester, students have provided internship for real-life job experience. and placement happenes in 7th to 8th semesters. in this year highest package from iitg was 2.4 crores, with an average of 22 Lpa. depending on branches around 70 to 80 % of students grab their jobs in college placement.

You come to IITG

Facilities of sports. All the sports placed are filled with necessary equipments, coaches and all the required courts.
The administrative buildings are pretty good to get any kind of help.

Dislikes

The timings of rain are non predictable which often makes you make blunder of not carrying raincoats or umbrella in hurry

Course Curriculum Overview:

EEE was the best course that l could get concerning my rank in the examination. Roughly there are 70 students in each department and there is a professor, TA course coordinator. Most of the faculty members are PHD scholars from India or outside. There are two semesters in a year each or length 4 months. Difficult was of course as expected moderate-tough.

I liked the infrastructure and the vast library
I liked the availability of canteens in every hostel
Campus Life is very good and faculty and placements are perfect for a student

Dislikes

I did not like the timely exams as every 2weeks you will be writing some exam
In some hostels the quality of food is not good
I did not like the 3month interaction ban with senior

Placement Experience:

Students will be eligible from the 7th semester for campus placements. Google and Microsoft were visited and 100+ offers were made. The highest package per company is Google 1cr and the average is 30lpa. 90% of the students were getting placed. My plan after getting the degree is to join a high-paying job.

College makes you learn

Likes

I liked club culture here .we have clubs in all domains needed.
The infrastructure here is great ,also the greenery in our college. It's most beautiful in country.
I also liked tradition of enjoying festivals.

Dislikes

Seventy five percent attendance criteria.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose computer science because I want to do something that is ongoing in the world, not just anything that could become a waste to me. The number of faculty in our college is good. Also, we get our TAs who are generally PhD and MTech students. For term exams, I start during the exam but I think one should start studying 15 days before the exam. It is sufficient For the rest of one and half months you can do different things.

my experience at IIT Guwahati

Likes

I like hostel life. You can have a lot of fun with your friends
Also there is a good environment for practicing coding.
The composer is also very beautiful and lively

Dislikes

The teachers are highly qualified but their teaching method is not so good for me.

Placement Experience:

Placements here are in the second last semester. There are many companies like Google Microsoft, meta, reliance, etc. Who budget for the placement the percentage of students getting placement and most of the branches have around 70 to 80 % of students who get placed.

Fresher at IIT Guwahati

Likes

The scenery around here is quite peaceful.
There are lots of sports facilities and good coaches for training the students.

Dislikes

As the Campus is big, it takes some time to reach different buildings.
The canteen is not open all the 24 hours.

Placement Experience:

The students recieve Pre placement offers in their third year and the campus placements begin in the fourth year. Almost all the students get placed and those who don't are the students applying for higher studies.

To be eligible for admission to M.Tech programs, you need to have graduated in B.Tech with 60% or M.Sc/AMIETE degree then appear for GATE entrance test.
