- The restaurant and night canteen are best and food of these restaurant are so so tasty that you will never gonna miss you home food again.
- The best about every college life is the Campus Environment, Club culture, sports activities

- Attandance - 85% attandance is very disgusting.. i never heard 85% in another collage except nit rourkela,
- They are so strict in their grading and failing students, it's terrible.

- One of the thing that I liked was Club/Society Culture at NIT Rourkela, there are several societies here at NIT Rourkela where one can get Involved for their Professional development.
- The Campus of NIT Rourkela is one of the most among all NITs. The campus is so vast that one can't roam around without a cycle.
Dislikes
- One of the things that I disliked is that if you are coming from a city background, you will not feel good in Rourkela. Rourkela is not so developed city where you can find several Clubs and Malls.
- The teaching methodology of the Professors is not good too. Same as other Nits and IITs you will get only the old Syllabus.
Placement Experience:
Talking about the placements of my college, they are pretty good. In 2023 the average package for chemical engineering was around 12.9 LPA,which is comparable to other Top NITs. Generally, companies start coming for the placements after the start of the 4th year. Last time there were around 1300 offers were given to 1075 students and 200 companies visited. The highest Package was 1.2 Crore. For our branch, 97 % of students got placed last year.

- Mess food especially on Sunday and Saturday
Placement Experience:
Students from 7th semester becomes eligible for campus placements. Name if companies visited are: Tata, Reliance, ExxonMobil, Saint Gobain, Qualcomm, Microsoft, BNY Mellon etc. Highest package is approximately 45 lakhs. Percentage of students getting placement is 97%.

- The roads are surrounded by trees and greenery is everywhere.
Dislikes
- The attendance criteria is very strict .
- In internet you will see internet criteria is 85% but in reality it is above that.
Placement Experience:
Placements are good and in all the branches almost everyone gets placed and infact some branches there is 100 percent placement and many companies visit this college for placements however if someone is looking for PSUs those companies only accept through gate
Internships Opportunities:
I am a first year undergraduate. I am right now not eligible for the internship. The intership starts at 2nd year and requires you to be skillful realted to coding, management or research field. These internships help further in placements.

- Overall I love my college. Many faculties are good they support students and gave better knowledge to their students.
- I love it's campus life as well as infrastructure and course.
Placement Experience:
It's placement is good i.e average package is about ?12 lack per annum. From 7 th semester students become eligible for campus placement. There are to many companies visited to my college as example Vedanta, Dalmia, HPCL,BPCL, Deloitte and many more for core branches and for tech Microsoft, Google etc. Mostly 85-95 percentage students placed in my college. In core branches you expect highest package is about ?25 lack per annum and the average package is about ?12 lack And for tech it's highest package is about ?50-60 lack per annum My plans after getting the degree is to crack upsc .

- The student environment is too good, you get to learn many things daily, over the years the club culture here has been the best like you'll get atleast 2-3 clubs with same interest that keeps the students competitive in fields other than academic too
- The nature is too good sunrise and sunset are just the calming things

- The grading is system is not like other college it can be improved le
- Too fast changing climate, you never know what will happen
Placement Experience:
Campus placement is good too, but there has been a decline in the placement this year the average being 12 lpa is a little bit lower than tha last year that had an average of 13.5 lpa, so in case of placement there has been a decline

- I like the campus , hostel life and the clubs here. Also the classes and my faculties are very good.
- lots of options outside the hostel ( many restaurants inside college).
Dislikes
- One thing i must say that the food here is very poor ( in mess) the
- Regarding girls hostel there is a very less no of hostels are there (only 3) they are suffering a lot due to small rooms and 4 to 5 girls shares a room
Placement Experience:
From the 7 th sem we are eligible for placements. The are many companies visits every year including HPCL , BPCL , IOCL , ONGC , VEDANTA , TCS , TATA STEELn RELIANCE POWER LIMITED etc. The highest package in (PSU'S) Core is 19 yo 20 LPA. Also there is 97% students who are placed. I am also planing to get a job in a Psu rather than any other private company.

- Vibrant fests to enjoy and active clubs to make your time at college memorable.
Dislikes
- Hostes rooms are too small here.. especially in girls hostel.
- Food in mess is boring to consume ..repeating the same items.
Course Curriculum Overview:
From my higher school days..I was having interest in science field basically in the field where there is the application of maths and chemistry. When I have searched more about the curriculum of chemical engineering I found some of the very interesting subjects such as chemical process calculations, mass transfer, heat transfer, fluid mechanics and so on. All because of mine keen interest on these subjects i choosed up this branch. This branch is having a lot of real world applications in oil and refineries, in petrochemical power plants and in various other industries. The overall course curriculum of chemical engineering I think excellent at nit Rourkela. One can learn a lot from labs and courses. Exams are held twice in a year..some subjects are easy to handle while some requires continuos efforts and practice to get a good grade. Superb branch of u want to be an excellent industrialist and to contribute to the technological and environmental advancement aspects.

- I liked the campus a lot as it is very beautiful and safe as well
- I liked the festivals as there are a lot of them going on!
Dislikes
- Hostel rooms are very small and it gets hot
- The summers are really hot in this city and no air conditioning in hostels
Placement Experience:
From third year students get placements and internships. Big Tech companies like Amazon and Microsoft also visit the campus. The highest package was 52 lpa last year offered by Microsoft and Amazon. Over 90 percent students get placed on campus and I also plan to get an on campus placement.

- Hostel life is really very enjoyable for me
Dislikes
- Smoking and alcohol is very common among students
- City is not that great minimum number of good places you can visit

What is your review of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT-RKL)?
A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience
- NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
- The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
- Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
- The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
- Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
- The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
- The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
- The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
- The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
- Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
- The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
