Bournemouth University (BU) Rankings 2026

• They secure employment if they try finding jobs two months before course ends or as soon as it ends. But to find jobs in their field is a bit difficult depending on their field. Like in Bournemouth people working in healthcare get jobs easily compared to rest.
• In our course we did not have option of placement year as it’s film industry it is difficult so we have to find our own job. So I don’t have an answer for major companies hiring graduates from my program as there are none. Average salaries depend on the field. For my field if I find job in my own as a runner for example, it is  £100-150 per day, 10-15 hours of work.
• Different fields like a subway job for example pays minimum wage according to the age £12.21 approx per hour. 

• It was associated with uni but it was off campus. They had a tie-up. It was through university we got to know. One of their accommodations is in university campus but I opted for the one in town.
• Around us there were all accommodations all students living. It was 10-15 mins away by bus from uni. I would recommend Bailey point if they are coming to Bournemouth or even Chesil House is a decent accommodation but if they want more modern for post graduate its Bailey Point. Or undergraduate it’s Belaton House. Yugo accomodations are pretty aesthetic with good common areas. Campus Living Villages is okay decent. 

• Mostly 99.% get a job just finishing their degree as the hospitality market always has vacancies available, so when you get a degree, you can take help from a professor, or you can just walk into any hotel with a resume, they mostly offer jobs. Because there is a high demand for hospitality students.
• Average salary yearly 30000£ in hospitality degree. Mostly, students get jobs in my university through reference, networking, as well as many hotel visits to my university for campus hiring, and also professors help the students to get jobs. My batchmates are working in Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Hyatt, and in big cities like london manchester. Hilton is a major company they come for placement in my university.

• My brother's friend helped me to find accommodation. As he was studying at the same university, he came here one year before me.
• I was paying 600£ monly with all bills included. I have a private washroom. With share kitchen
• As my brother friend helped me, I have not encountered any difficulties.
• You use Facebook Marketplace or zoopla and Amberstudent online applications for searching accommodation. It was 4 miles from my university campus.

• Full-time job opportunities are dependent on a visa. Job fairs and job opportunities are available during and after the course is over. In the creative field, a portfolio speaks for the candidate. But as an international student, visa restrictions are there. Please confirm with the employer for the same.
• Methods of getting jobs are campus recruitment, internships, networking, online job portals, film festivals, summits, job sites, company sites, and social media pages, etc.

• I found my accommodation by university websites. I stayed in university accommodation off campus but near the campus for ease of travel to devote maximum study hours in the university.
• My accommodation included a separate room with a shared kitchen. The flatmates were friendly and supportive, expanding our multicultural connections and friendships.

• Minimum £22000 per annum can be earned. There are a lot of recruiting companies that come to the campus every 2-3 months, as the university holds job festivals very often.

• Online platforms can be used, such as: university website (accommodation), Unidays, right to move, Spareroom. On-campus/university accommodation for a shared house the monthly rent was £530 with facilities like 1 kitchen with all the appliances kettle, dinning, fridge and freezers, oven, microwave etc., 2-3 bathrooms, 1 living room/lounge., heater, water and electricity; outside campus the accommodations costs £550 r.p.m (min) with all the mentioned facilities.

• Found this to be very difficult at most because of the visa issues in terms of my job type that i was looking for.
• Average salary range is around 24,000 pounds per year.
• Students need to keep applying constantly and have a good profile as well in order to ensure they are available to take care of constant rejection from application of jobs.
• They need to have a good profile which is important. Mainly sports organisations hire.

• Accomodation was around 4- 5 Kilometers away from the University.
• A lot of times i like to walk back to my accomodation after my University timings ended
• I managed to get the university accomodation when i was there
• No challege, just an EMAIL message and a visit to the venue.
• Student accomodation is expensive but secure and safe for everyone.

• Students apply for jobs on the Uni website and they are also given counselling for it by experts. Job fairs are organised, which also play an important role in networking with the right people.
• A friend of mine got placement and it was for 40 weeks maximum during that point of time.

• The university had their accommodation where PG students had a choice to choose either sharing or a studio flat. I chose to live in a studio, as it had all the amenities like a kitchen, bedroom and more space, which was required for me during my course. I had booked it through their website, where I had diverse options to choose from based on my liking and made the necessary payment for it.
• My rent was 5000 GBP which was to be paid in instalments.
• The challenges faced were the availability, as there were not many options and getting the right one was important.
• It wasn't that far, as there was transportation provided by the university and was able to reach the campus on time. Most Indians often prefer staying in groups through low-cost accommodation, as it may be a cheaper option through various real estate and rental websites, but I preferred campus accommodation due to safety concerns.

• The employment cell was not very strong given that Studios in the U.K. were fewer, and it didn't have any Global resources at the time for getting Jobs.

• I was staying outside of the campus and was paying 200 Pounds per month in shared rental accommodation with 4 other people staying with me in the house.

• In my course, there are many people who are still struggling to find jobs but that is mostly because of the job market and the Hollywood strikes and multiple layoffs that started right after our graduation. The years before that, they had quite good results with securing full time jobs.
• I don't have much knowledge in this area but the min salary for freshers in our field must be around £25,000 per year.
• We do not have campus placements/ recruitments but the BFX festival gives us the opportunity to connect with industry professionals and recruiters who can give us advice on how to approach the job applications.
• Our course also has a placement year before the final year for students who are interested in taking up internships before finishing their course. There will be guidance given and also there's a Careers BU that helps with finding placements (we didn't have much luck for our course)

• In my first year I used uni accommodation and booked through my university. In my second year, I moved into a rented house with a bunch of friends and we found this through LettingsBU, another website from the University that helps students find houses to rent outside of uni accommodation. In third year we moved back into a different uni accommodation.
• We were paying £140 per week at the University accommodation which included all bills. While renting in my 2nd year, I paid £90 per week, but the bills had to be paid by us, and the rates were very unstable.
• I'd recommend uni accommodation, as it is a very smooth process and not much hassle, especially for international students who are new to the city. Then you can consider rented houses and preferably ones that include bills as well.
• Both uni accommodations were a bus ride away, while the rented house was a 15-min walk.

There is on-campus placement. Companies like HP, Dell, etc. Many law and accounting firms come every year to campus.

I choose Bournemouth University because of the infrastructure and other facilities provided by them. Another reason is modules are very different compared to other universities and also professors are very friendly.
