What Students Say
Dislikes
- The placements cell for Gaming and Animation was not very strong even when it was one of the Top University / College to study Animation and Games in the U.K.
Course Curriculum
- Yes, the course was very relevant but no Industrial exposure was given. There were about 2 - 3 classes a day for 45 minutes each and the rest was practical use of tools. We had about 18-20 people in each selective (between Animation & Visual Fx and Msc. Tech Major)
Admission Experience
- This was one of the Top Most colleges in the U.K. at that time providing Animation, Visual Fx and Gaming Tech courses. The course was very competitive and the focus was on a lot of practical experience with the latest tools and tech.
- My scores were as follows: IELTS - 7.5; TOEFL - 781/900
Faculty
- The Faculty was amazing and had a lot of Subject Expertise. In fact we had a person from the Industry come every week on Friday to give 2 - 3 hours of sessions, giving real-world examples on how work happens in Top Gaming and Animation Studios
Campus Life
- It was well versed with the Top Tech and Gadgets including Film Cameras, Full Screen Recording Studio, Blue Screen Rooms, Motion Capture equipment and a huge library for useful books required for animation and gaming.
Part Time Jobs
- At that time we were paid 7 - 8 pounds an hour and were allowed a maximum of 15 - 20 hours of part-time work a week. There were quite a lot of Students who became TAs and RAs from the courses but they were mostly local graduates and not international Students.
Placement
- The employment cell was not very strong given that Studios in the U.K. were fewer, and it didn't have any Global resources at the time for getting Jobs.
Accommodation
- I was staying outside of the campus and was paying 200 Pounds per month in shared rental accommodation with 4 other people staying with me in the house.
Exams
- IELTS & TOEFL and I had to Submit my SOP & Digital Portfolio for review
Fees
- 8000 GBP
