Course Curriculum

8

  • Course was actually fairly straightforward and simple
  • It consisted of a lot of report submission alone, nothing practical
  • It showed me across a lot of infrastucture facilities related to sport that were present in the UK
  • 5 classes a week with around 1 or 2 classes a day. 2 hour classes in the afternoon mostly.
  • Around 6 - 8 Indian students were in the course along with me.

Admission Experience

  • I only chose this university from the start since i had a plan that i had to follow for certifications outside of the University and Courses within the University. This is mainly because i wanted to ensure that there were opportunities that were nearby me in comparison to that which were far away from me during my time at UK. I had to endure a lot of part time work as well which was suitable.
  • My main reason for the University was because it was linked up with a Football club which was on my line of work. It also provides me an opportunity to do other certification courses that are nearby to the place where i studied. Entry was Mainly IELTS score and a CAS letter. No challenges were faced by me during the admission process but the visa interview process was certainly a challenge as such.
  • I managed to get into the september intake. Main reason was again my planning with in terms of certification courses around the university and in my line of work. The admission process took around 3 months in total from time of application to CAS letter and to acceptance letter , the document submition process. Then once i arrived at the university , i was again asked to showcase my documents and it took 1 day for that.

Faculty

8

  • Faculty to student ratio is around 1:20
  • The shared a great depth of their knowledge in relation to the subject matter
  • The only issue is the fact we couldnt get their guidance at most times when needed as they were busy.
  • I was able to start my own Business back home with the learnings i got from the course.
  • As far as my knowledge i couldn't get any job guidance.
  • Faculty who taught me about sports Fan and Leisure was most admirable.

Campus Life

10

  • There are a total of 5 buildings, with each building having different departments
  • There is a library, 3G pitches which are what you call also as turfs. There is also a GYM, lots of compurter rooms for animation work, study rooms and libraries
  • Bournemouth Rugby 7's is one of the events they conduct everytime. There is also Poole air Show that gets conducted at the beach.
  • There are around 30 students clubs at the University withh student campus leaders and leaders for different departments.

Part Time Jobs

  • I'm pretty sure most of the students do get it to my knowledge as students tend to want to do PHD later on as well
  • On campus jobs involve library jobs, IT jobs, Bank assistant jobs, Admin jobs, work range is 20 hours per week max
  • Part time jobs are always available. It's mostly about whether the individual is liking the job or not
  • Most students work 20 hours a week and earn between 10 - 12 pounds. They are also finding it difficult to get jobs of their preference in terms of their studies. To apply for these jobs, an availability must be there and students must be able to get access before other students who apply. Only certain times 1 out of 100 do we get a job of our liking. So most students end up working at restraunts and Supermarkets.

Placement

8

  • Found this to be very difficult at most because of the visa issues in terms of my job type that i was looking for.
  • Average salary range is around 24,000 pounds per year.
  • Students need to keep applying constantly and have a good profile as well in order to ensure they are available to take care of constant rejection from application of jobs.
  • They need to have a good profile which is important. Mainly sports organisations hire.

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

  • Accomodation was around 4- 5 Kilometers away from the University.
  • A lot of times i like to walk back to my accomodation after my University timings ended
  • I managed to get the university accomodation when i was there
  • No challege, just an EMAIL message and a visit to the venue.
  • Student accomodation is expensive but secure and safe for everyone.

Exams

  • We can go ahead to join the University just through IELTS or TOEFL alone. We can also join if English is your first language. This was mainly for my course.
  • Other courses such as Computer animations which the university is famous for requires a lot of experience and certification courses that i needed before the students can join. SOP and LOR Was needed to be submitted. Interview was only part of my VISA process.

Fees

  • Fees for the entire year was 24,000 Pounds in which i had gotten a 2000 Pound scholarship. Other than this there were rent expenses which were 400 pounds a month and food expenses that can range between 300 and 400 pounds a month as well.
  • Students got free access to bus travel on University bus. Other expenses such as entertainment or sightseeing also cost a bit but not more than 100 pounds a month.

Scholarship

  • Yes i was able to get a scholarship for the couse of 2000 pounds. The scholarship was provided for special student cases where work experience prior helped with it.
  • Another Batchmate of mine was also able to access this scholarship. Im unsure of the number but i think within th 30 student batch, around 5 - 10 students recieved the scholarship during my study time.
