My Bournemouth University experience

I applied to Bournemouth and Oxford Brookes universities. I got an offer letter from both universities. I applied to two universities: Bournemouth University Oxford Brookes University I have confirmed admission letters from both Bournemouth University and Oxford Brookes University. After careful consideration, I chose Bournemouth University instead of Oxford Brookes University. The main reason behind choosing Bournemouth was the placement year fees, which were 800 compared to 2000 in oxford Brookes University. And in Bournemouth, there were many hotels for my exposures i could part-time job there in my industry. I chose Bournemouth University over Oxford Brookes after careful consideration of some important points. 1. Cheaper placement year fees in Bournemouth, it was £ 800 compared to 2000 in Oxford Brookes University, and strong industry experience in hotels, as Bournemouth is a famous town and there was lot of hotels for my placement year opportunities. 2 . Cost of living was cheaper in Bournemouth compared to Oxford, as Oxford is one of the most expensive towns for renting a student accommodation in uk. 3 . Another reason was that Bournemouth is a famous beach destination all over the UK, and I love beaches, so I chose Bournemouth over Oxford for my master's. The admission process was very simple; you just had to create an account on the university website and submit your bachelor's degree marks and your IELTS score. The English requirement was 6 bands. For hospitality courses My admission process was very simple. I didn’t take any help from the agent; I did my process by myself. Everything was on the university website after they verified your marksheet and IELTS marks. They asked me to submit 2000 £ university fees. The remaining fees were to settle letter when I reached uk. I applied in September intake. As it is the primary intake in most of the UK universities, and my course had more seats in the September intake compared to the January intake, I applied in September. I started my admission process in May 2021. I submitted all my degree marksheet and degree online on the university website, and my IELTS score as well. I only chose this university from the start since i had a plan that i had to follow for certifications outside of the University and Courses within the University. This is mainly because i wanted to ensure that there were opportunities that were nearby me in comparison to that which were far away from me during my time at UK. I had to endure a lot of part time work as well which was suitable. My main reason for the University was because it was linked up with a Football club which was on my line of work. It also provides me an opportunity to do other certification courses that are nearby to the place where i studied. Entry was Mainly IELTS score and a CAS letter. No challenges were faced by me during the admission process but the visa interview process was certainly a challenge as such. I managed to get into the september intake. Main reason was again my planning with in terms of certification courses around the university and in my line of work. The SOP (Statement of Purpose) should be very strong and the IELTS/PTE scores should also match the criteria for the university which you intend to apply to. I had applied to various universities in the UK out of which I had got unconditional offers from them. One university, the University of Hertfordshire, had rejected my application, as they had different eligibility criteria in it. The main criteria for me were the cost of living and the commuting facilities while studying. I felt Bournemouth was a very nice place and it was also accessible from the Heathrow Airport in London via road transportation. The first thing needed was the updated CAS letter (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), which was done once the unconditional offer was accepted. In order to get the unconditional offer, school marksheets, degree certificates, SOP and english test scores should match the eligibility of the university you are applying to. I had taken PTE (Pearson Test of English) in online format and I had got a very good score which matched the criteria for the university I was applying to. Minimum score required is 6.5 overall with the same score in modules namely reading, writing, speaking and listening but it can be waived if the English marks in high school are first class. I took the January intake and it was useful, as I was able to complete the course timely during the COVID-19 lockdown. I applied to 6-7 colleges in the UK Northumbria, shortlisted (conditional offer) Westminster, shortlisted Teesside, shortlisted Anglia Ruskin, shortlisted Bournemouth, admitted East London, rejected Hertfordshire, rejected I only received confirmed admission from Bournemouth University. I was rejected by Hertfordshire and East London I was probably rejected because my portfolio hasn't met the expectations for the particular courses. Bournemouth University is ranked in the top 5 as the best university for Computer Animation and VFX (in the UK); hence, i decided to choose them. I was given a conditional offer after i submitted my predicted marksheet, IELTS, CAS letter and Letter of Recommendation, then I was given an unconditional offer after I got my results. IELTS was considered for all the universities, with 7 being the minimum overall score in most of them I went through an agency that helped me with the entire process free of charge, which was a great help, especially with applications and visas. I applied for the September intake, as that was the only intake for my course at that moment The admission process did take quite a lot of time, as I was waiting for my results and that was delayed because of corona.
