Entrance Preview

I had given WBJEE exam. There are many colleges in West Bengal. But I prefer this because its faculty are well-known persons and it is located in Kolkata.

Course Curriculum Overview

Due to this academic record is excellent. The course of our b.tech is not much harder. There are many students that failed in academic. But I think the course is quite easy.

Internships Opportunities

Maximum companies which are coming for campusing are IT companies. So it is good for computer science and IT not for core branches like electrical, mechanical, civil, etc.

College Events

Cultural, the technical fest is good in college. There was much competition on the fest, and on Robotics also. My college organized every year competition on robotics. I have seen every year iit Kharagpur came here for participation.

Fee Structure And Facilities

the fee structure is very expensive. I paid 95000 INR annually. 95000

There is no such type of offer. But chairperson helped many students who is not able to pay their entire fee.

Campus Life

This college is well known for an event organized for Robotics, many colleges came here for robotics competition organized by the college. Debates are generally not organized by my college. I never ever seen any debate competition which is organized by my college. But my college has a good record in robotics. My colleges have got many rewards and hold a good position in competition comparing to iit Kharagpur.

Hostel Facilities

The mess is average and not very good. There is a major issue of chapati. But the mess is good for vegetarian as well as nonveg. Mess provide mutton and chicken. They provide milk for vegetarian also.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very good, ragging is a major issue, but this college is quite good, Ragging is almost banned on the campus. I saw almost ragging is negligible. Ragging is not a big issue on my college campus. Most of the seniors are friendly. Generally, Bengali has very good behavior. They are sweet( Bengali).

Exam Structure

The exam structure is very good. There is total of two major exams in every semester excluding final semester.

The faculty of this college is well-known persons and maximum comes from iit.

Placement Experience:

At JGEC,campus placements begin mostly from the 6th/final year semester,when students become eligible .I recent years many well-known companies have visited such as Pinnacle Infotech,Synnova Gears & Transmissions Pvt.Ltd,,TCS,Jyesta corporate Entity and many more.The highest package was around 54 LPA form Google ,While the overall average is 10.2LPA.Many students also take internships, industrial training or prepare for higher studies(GATE) rather than accepting direct placement immediately.The exact percentage of student getting palcement is no where.But last year the percentage placed is 70%.
