Remarks

Our college is situated in a picturesque location. The hostel facility is also good. The rooms in the hostel are regularly cleaned. There are adequate patients in the Medical College Hospital unlike other private medical colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The Course Curriculum has been updated from 2019 admission onwards. Our batch follows the old curriculum. We have 4 University Exams in total. After the final university exam, you have to undergo 1 year compulsory internship.

Placement Experience

3.5

Job opportunities after MBBS is very promising. After four and half years of the course, you have to undergo one year internship programme. The internship programme at MES Medical College is not as hard as in Government Medical Colleges. Stipend during internship is around ?8000 per month, food and accommodation being free.

College Events

3.5

MES Medical College has a very active Student’s Union renewed every year. Union comprises of students from the final year and 3rd year MBBS. The Sports events in the college are really good. The Arts events are not that colourful.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I joined the MBBS course under government seat. I am 2016 admission batch. For me, the fee is ?2.5 lakhs per year. For hostel, you have to pay around ?90,000 per year. For my family, the fee is affordable. But, my classmates who have joined in management seats have to pay realtors high fees.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

For OBC students, the central government provides scholarship through scholarships.gov.in. The office staff in the college will help to avail this scholarship. I receive ?30,000 per year through this scholarship.

Campus Life

2.5

The sports culture in the college is really good, particularly football culture. The football ground is a really well maintained 7s turf with floodlights. There is a good enough basketball court also in the college. Other games are not that celebrated in the college.

Alumni/Alumna

There is no active alumni network associated with our college. The senior students are really helpful. Our college is one of the few ragging free campuses in Kerala. Senior students are particularly helpful during the Clinical Postings. Senior students teach you most of the clinical methods.

Admission

I got admission through KEAM Entrance Exam. Now the admission is based on NEET UG Entrance Exam. I got admission on my first attempt. I did long term entrance coaching along with 11th and 12th at Vijayagiri Public School.

Faculty

3

The faculty at MES Medical College is not bad. The HODs of most department are retired staff from Government Medical Colleges. Most faculty are highly qualified and efficient. But, some of the faculty aren’t interested in teaching the students, they care about the patients only.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is too heavy and there is lot to learn . Since it is based on helping people I chose this course. And the curriculum is set in such away that we were trained to face health problems in real world in real time. The final year time duration can be increased since there are 6 subjects which are too hard. There will be 3 internal assessment in which total of no less 40 percent should be scored in both theory and practical only then you will be permitted to write the University Exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We were brought into the new CBME curriculum. Even the faculty finds it hard to comply with as it is a new system. There are a lot of small group discussions and self directed learning programmes that consider the teacher as just a facilitator and students are meant to learn with the guidance of the facilitator.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is very esteemed profession and we have the lives of people in our hands. Curriculum very well prepares us for real world applications if we put effort from our side too. Faculties need to be more student friendly though.

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS course is a 5.5 year course.First year is a bit of hassle as we are getting introduced into a new environment First year subjects- Anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. These lay the foundation for our upcoming subjects In second year we have pathology, microbiology and pharmacology.Pathology is very much important as it very useful in medicine.Same goes for pharmacology to know the drug used for treatment. Third year deals with forensic medicine and community medicine Fourth year we have medicine, obs, pediatrics, ent and ophthalmology Then there is a compulsary internship for 1 year Exams are well conducted each year. There are many internal exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Why MBBS because it has been my dream since of I was kid and I’m glad that I made it this far. Each batch in my college have 250 students and for every 25 students one faculty would be given as mentor, whom we can approach for any of queries. Apart from that practical and clinical postings are really fascinating. We would have year exams as to qualify each year, and a few internal exams every 2-3 months. And these exams I wouldn’t put it too tough that we have to give our 100% of time for only studies but nor too easy. If we put a moderate effort for studies we are soo good to go.
