Course Curriculum Overview

4

My sister took mbbs which have always strongly influenced me ,along with me having always a thirst for knowledge As a ug student I'm not that well prepared for the outside world in the treatment of patients since it is a delicate field and need more years of experience Usual sem exams alongwith university exams un the final, the exams are moderate to difficult level and need a hardwork to clear

Internships Opportunities

4

Intership is a must do with rotational departments taken in our mbbs duration It lasts 12 months with adequate payment Work varies from clerical to assisting major operations and procedures Intership is very much useful in using the theoretical knowledge gained in the 4.5 year duration

Fees and Financial Aid

yearwise fees is 22050 tution fees and 3320 miscellaneous fees for course duration of 4 years Scholarships like egrantz, momo for minority are available The fees have been constant for almost a decade now....since my sister also had similar fees in another government medical college

Campus Life

4

Annual festival includes Vishu onam Christmas held respectively in the months of April , September, December The library is vast with many publications of both foreign and local authors The technological provisions needs much improvement for they are obsolete in many aspects

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities are good with great mess food in affordable rates Although the buildings and old and need rework and refurbishment in great extend Almost 12k is needed for hostel fund...with 8k required for each year and 4k for establishment fund

Admission

This is the only college i applied to ,and since I had good marks I got admitted in first allotment itself I chose this college due to its prestigious history including vast patients and faculties Admission procedure is through NEET exam and u need good rank to secure the seats in ur dream college which usually follows a cut off marks and rank

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is appropriate although the faculties are always busy due to the hectic amount of workload and patients to take care There are 19 departments in my overall course and I have met many charismatic and exceptional facilities that I still respect and look upon... including anatomy hod doctor ashalatha and post graduates doctor Sandra and anjana from physiology There are sem exams and then University exams ....all of which are difficult and need persistent and consistent work to pass ,since many have not cleared the exams and lead to year backs

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course not due to the curriculum..i qlways dreamed of becoming a good doctor. The level.of satisfaction you get in this profession wont be anywhere else. The modernization of curriculum has stressed on the clinical aspects which i think is the core of medicine. We have been taken to bedside and taught to examine patients diagnose the case and interpret imaging. Also the skill lab clears the obstruction we face in a real life like we are being trained in BLS and ALS. Our junior batches are also taken to trivandrum medical college to see autopsy which in fact is a real opportunity. The course could improve in a way that apart from academics it must give importance to sports arts also which is not promoted in our college. Also revisions classes can be made effects by conducting small test papers chapter wise instead of taking chapters on repetition. Exams are almost done in an effective way. The course is actually very difficult compared to others. So much effort has to be put in from both students and Teacher's side.

Remarks:

The hostel and college infrastructure are a little poor compared to other colleges but it is expected with the minimal fees given. There are a lot of festivals and programs and a healthy political atmosphere. The non violent conflicts between the two opposing parties lead to good development in the college.
