- Best Clinical Exposure.Calicut is the place where patients from 5 district of north kerala comes.So we get exposed to all sort of cases.Different anomalies and rare conditions etc.
- State of Art Equipments.The college owns the best Health Care equipments in the markets.
- Best Teachers from the crowd.The Professors and Faculty of Calicut Medical College is selected after a number of selections processes.So their knowledge in respective areas of interest is wide and helpful in our academics.
Dislikes
- No stipend during internship days.We have 7-8 hrs of duty shift in our internship days.But college doesnt provide any stipend.
- The amount of free time is less.We will be on our busy posting schedules
- Strength of the class is very low as there are only 4 students intake per year.
Course Curriculum Overview
Cardiac Illness is being reported ans the 2nd major cause of death by the WHO.The patient load is very high and reauieyment of Echocardiographers and Cath Lab Team has been incerased in the society. The course deals with newer technologies of treatment and practice guidelines. Every year University will conduct examinations based on the sylabbus and Examinations will be conducted accordingly.
Internships Opportunities
Internship is of compulsory mode and consist of one year full time rotatory internship which provide hands on experience on all technical aspects.Duty shifts are of Day,Night and on call duties.We will have To 3 night duty we will get one day off.And we will have 20 casual leave during our internship period.
Fees and Financial Aid
Course is of 4 years (3 year Academics + one year Internship). Fee comprises as follows: 1st Year - 20870 2nd Year - 21870 3rd Year - 21870 4th Year - 18870 Fee paid will be refunded if your are eligible for E grants Scholarship which is eligible for all pupils except one whose parents are government employees.
Campus Life
The college union provide platforms to showcase the students talents in various areas like Arts, Sports,Leadership Qualities.Early Arts and sports events are being conducted.All we have to do is to find time to engage in all activities.
Hostel Facilities
College will provide Hostel facilities for those who want to and has seperate hostels for boys and girls. Hostel rent for Boys is 7000 per month and for ladies is 8500 per year. Food is provided in all hostels by various mess contractors and we have to pay for it monthly. Reservation category students will get mess bill refund too.
Admission
Admission is based on our Higher Secondary Level Score,one must have studied Biology,Physics and Chemistry and scored 50% in all the three. Admission process is through LBS centre for Science and Technology Every year they conduct recruitment.
Faculty
In our Department of Cardiology,there are 3 cardiology units comprised of 1 Professor and 2 Assistant/ Associate Professor in each unit.And each unit will have 4 DM Cardiology Post Graduate Residents who will teach us like our friends.
