Course Curriculum Overview

2

To be honest... i expected more from this college and our subject curriculum.. but i dont think ive gained insightful academjc pursuits or anything.. my 2 teachers helps us as much as they can.. their teaching methods is fine but they take portions prtty slow.. and for our hod.. he takes portions very fast but its very unclear and doesnt know how to take it... just randomly splurts out random examples that doesnt even benefits the subject

Fees and Financial Aid

Starting with the fees, when i first joined this college, the management forced me to take an addon course (diploma in counselling) for 30k and the classes not are even finished even though im in last year (they told me they would complete withini 2 yrs). They also guaranted internship for us.. but naahh they lied fr.. and the fee structure.. omgg.. the exam fees are adding up more n more each year.. and they have taken extra 2000 rs in the name of internship when i joined this college..

Campus Life

2

Im an introvert person.. but the campus structure is fine and good.. but the bathroom facilities are low snd dirty... i dont really involve my self in clubs and arts.. but from what i heard from others, they dont get proper attendancd when theh go to practice etc..

Admission

Ive applied for St. Joseph college in iringalakuda.. which is an autonomous college with a good reputation.. i couldnt go bcz it was like long.. and then i gave this college as my second option.. and had very very high hopes for this college... but got conned in the first time..

Faculty

2

The faculty at our college is a mix of inspiration and challenges. We have two incredible teachers who truly stand out, and they are the heart of our academic experience. They go above and beyond, motivating us every single day, even during the most stressful times. They put genuine effort into teaching, making sure that we understand concepts clearly and feel confident in our abilities. These teachers don’t just teach; they inspire. They always find ways to encourage us, showing patience and understanding, and they are the reason many of us feel supported in our academic journey. But then, there’s the Head of the Department (HOD), and the experience with him is completely different. Despite being in such an important position and pursuing a PhD, he doesn’t contribute much to our academic growth. It’s frustrating to see someone in his role who struggles with basic skills like using MS Word. He rarely makes an effort to lead or improve the department. It feels like he’s just there, doing the bare minimum, and that lack of involvement affects all of us. What’s worse is that he teaches Abnormal Psychology in the sixth semester—a critical subject for our field. Yet, he doesn’t have the necessary clinical background or the teaching ability to do justice to it. His lectures lack depth, and his explanations are often unclear, leaving students confused and disheartened. The most challenging part, though, is his approach to exams. Unlike our other teachers, who grade us fairly and encourage us to express our understanding in our own way, the HOD expects us to copy his answers word-for-word. There’s no room for personal interpretation or creativity in his assessments. Even if we provide accurate and well-structured answers, he deducts marks simply because we didn’t phrase them exactly as he would. This rigid and unfair marking system takes away the joy of learning and leaves us feeling demotivated. The course structure itself is well-planned, offering a wide range of topic

Night Life

3

Cafeteria is very good.. idk abt hostels. But the cafeteria is very good.. right now.. but when i came here for the first time, it was bad and had some food infections to others.. Our college is near thrissur town.. so there are like good spots like nehru park, and some cafes..

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course not because of curriculum. The syllabus is very bad and it doesn't really help to apply in real-world situations.I suggest that the practical exposure must be needed and give chances for students to apply in internships. The timing of exam actually stressed alot in even semesters due to shortage in classes. The faculty rushes to take class and also gives a load of work when the exam is near.

Our syllabus and curriculum was easy to moderate in the first year. And in the final year it changes to moderate to difficult. More of the questions are direct questions and some questions related to organic chemistry is in application level.

The placement of our collage are better as our collage has less student which gives a relax mindset to the mamangnment that not many people are left to place. In our collage gurls get placed in first year itself as the act of SYNERGY girls recruitment. For boys as well. Many good companies enroll in this collage.
