  • As far as I remember I was only writing exams

Course Curriculum Overview :

I had a keen interest in knowing how the human body worked. I was fascinated by how a doctor is able to give medicine to a patient who was a human being as himself. I wanted to know the cure to diseases I wanted to know the disease so I chose this course. I feel my choice was right because even though my 1st year is still going I am quite aware of few diseases and their cure as well. And my interest never dies

Internships Opportunities :

Our college is academically among top 10 colleges of India . I am not quite knowledgeable about the internship opportunities. But as far as I know about internship is that placement opportunities are higher .

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I have enrolled in to a self financing college. The yearly fees is 10lakhs and for NRIs it is of about 22lakhs. Scholarships are available so are financial assistance. The college makes us aware of all the scholarships.

Campus Life :

So as 1st year medical student as far as I remember I had lots of exams. Classes are good ????????. Usually classes are projected via ppt . There are sports club. The college provides basket ball court, football ground and badminton court. A library is provided which is filled with books. The college takes frequent surveys inquiring the well being of the student. There is an active anti ragging committee in the college.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel provided by the college is pretty fine. Every student is provided with their own bed, study table and cupboard. The meal provided is much better compared to other hostels/colleges that I have heard.

Admission :

I enrolled after qualifying Neet-UG. After qualifying I enrolled for seat at my college through KEAM and got admission via self financing. We can submit application either via NTA or respective State eligibility entrance examination. Application form is available in their respective cites.

Other Applied Colleges

Travancore Medical College - [TMC] | Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

College was faraway from my home

Course Curriculum Overview:

We were brought into the new CBME curriculum. Even the faculty finds it hard to comply with as it is a new system. There are a lot of small group discussions and self directed learning programmes that consider the teacher as just a facilitator and students are meant to learn with the guidance of the facilitator.

MBBS course is a 5.5 year course.First year is a bit of hassle as we are getting introduced into a new environment First year subjects- Anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. These lay the foundation for our upcoming subjects In second year we have pathology, microbiology and pharmacology.Pathology is very much important as it very useful in medicine.Same goes for pharmacology to know the drug used for treatment. Third year deals with forensic medicine and community medicine Fourth year we have medicine, obs, pediatrics, ent and ophthalmology Then there is a compulsary internship for 1 year Exams are well conducted each year. There are many internal exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Why MBBS because it has been my dream since of I was kid and I’m glad that I made it this far. Each batch in my college have 250 students and for every 25 students one faculty would be given as mentor, whom we can approach for any of queries. Apart from that practical and clinical postings are really fascinating. We would have year exams as to qualify each year, and a few internal exams every 2-3 months. And these exams I wouldn’t put it too tough that we have to give our 100% of time for only studies but nor too easy. If we put a moderate effort for studies we are soo good to go.

MBBS is a course which saves the lives of patient and cure thier illnesses which will bring light to their life. From second year onwards we start getting clinical exposures, which helps us to prepare for the real world medical situations.Exams are conducted every 3 months which are quite difficult but will help us analyse our knowledge and improve them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is actually not difficult but it isvery much vast so it we find a little bit hard to survive mbbs.Clinically based studies are more usefull than the theory sessions.Exams are stressfull due to the topics that we have to cover, interval between exams are normal

As I Was The first CBME batch in our college ,it was a little thought for the teachers to adapt but now after learning from our mistakes ,they have changed all their old way of teaching and now they try to do competency based teaching rather than just teaching
