Remarks :

College Management is good and almost always accepts your requests to conduct college programs according to the will of the students.

Course Curriculum Overview :

MBBS course is divided into 4 years. You have 1 university exam after each year consisting of both Theory and Practical. 50% of marks is required in both theory and practical separately for passing each subject. After the 4 years, you have a 1-year internship at the college where you studied.

Placement Experience :

The 1-year internship after the 4 years is compulsory. You get around ? 8000 per month during the internship period. Placements are not given in any medical college.

College Events :

The student union conducts the programs at the college. Each year, different types of programs are conducted. There is a strong football heritage at MES Medical College and football tournaments are the most colorful program at MES Medical College. Other programs like College Day, PG Day, Onam, Christmas, etc. are also conducted.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure for MBBS course at private medical college changes each year. As I was admitted to a government seat due to good rank in the KEAM 2016 entrance exam, I have to pay,2.5 lakhs per year as tuition fee alone which is affordable when compared to high fees for management students.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I have applied for merit scholarship through scholarships.gov.in and I get? 30,000 per year through my bank account. This scholarship can be availed if the family income is less than ? 2 lakh per year.

Campus Life :

The campus life at MES Medical College is not that great compared to other Government Medical Colleges in the state. Talking about gender ratio, almost 65% are females. Extracurricular activities do happen regularly conducted by the students union.

Hostel Facilities :

For the fee, the hostel facilities are good. Food cannot be opted out. But, the food is delicious and healthy. The hostel has a volleyball ground inside. We have a TV room, 3 coolers on different floors. The floors are swept daily by sweepers. There is also space for washing and drying clothes.

Alumni/Alumna :

There is no effective alumni network at the college to date. Senior students are really helpful. You cannot survive MBBS without the insights of your seniors, at least that was my experience.

Admission :

I aspired to become a doctor when I was doing my 10th standard. So, after 10th, I joined Vijayagiri Public School near Chalakkudi, Thrissur which offered entrance coaching by Prof. PC Thomas Classes along with 11th and 12th standards in the CBSE syllabus. Due to the great coaching at Vijayagiri Public School, I was able to get a rank of 1097 in KEAM 2016 entrance examination in the first attempt. After the government medical colleges, I preferred Pariyaram Medical College and then, MES Medical College and that is how I got admission at MES Medical College.

Faculty :

HODs of most departments in MES Medical College are previous students at Calicut Medical College, which is the best medical college in Kerala. Most other faculty are also good enough. But, clinical exposure is limited at MES Medical College as it is a private medical college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We were brought into the new CBME curriculum. Even the faculty finds it hard to comply with as it is a new system. There are a lot of small group discussions and self directed learning programmes that consider the teacher as just a facilitator and students are meant to learn with the guidance of the facilitator.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Why MBBS because it has been my dream since of I was kid and I’m glad that I made it this far. Each batch in my college have 250 students and for every 25 students one faculty would be given as mentor, whom we can approach for any of queries. Apart from that practical and clinical postings are really fascinating. We would have year exams as to qualify each year, and a few internal exams every 2-3 months. And these exams I wouldn’t put it too tough that we have to give our 100% of time for only studies but nor too easy. If we put a moderate effort for studies we are soo good to go.

MBBS is a course which saves the lives of patient and cure thier illnesses which will bring light to their life. From second year onwards we start getting clinical exposures, which helps us to prepare for the real world medical situations.Exams are conducted every 3 months which are quite difficult but will help us analyse our knowledge and improve them.

Course is actually not difficult but it isvery much vast so it we find a little bit hard to survive mbbs.Clinically based studies are more usefull than the theory sessions.Exams are stressfull due to the topics that we have to cover, interval between exams are normal

As I Was The first CBME batch in our college ,it was a little thought for the teachers to adapt but now after learning from our mistakes ,they have changed all their old way of teaching and now they try to do competency based teaching rather than just teaching
