Remarks
Overall our college has the potential of being the best college but the only thing it lacks is the scope for pursuing lab oriented research work. The state funding is also not proper to develop high end labs like in IITs. They just suffice to needs of curriculum.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very much upto the current requirements of the student needs. Covers all topics required for pursuing jobs to doing higher research. The overall curriculum is updated to the current syllabus and provides huge scope for pursuing a research oriented career.
Placement Experience
The overall placements in non-core CS/IT branches have an average salary scale of 16lpa covering companies like Amazon, Microsoft, DeShaw, Samsung, Salesforce, Goldman Sacs, etc. Core Branches too have a very good placements with an average of 6-10lpa across Texas Instruments, Samsung Hardware, Qualcomm, PwC, ZS, L&T, Bajaj, Mahindra, Tata group, etc.
College Events
There are numerous events throughout the year starting from basic technical fests like Srijan, Janti Tantro, Convolution, Trajectory to varied cultural fests unified by different streams of engineering, science and arts like Sanskriti(Annual Cultural fest), Ibtida, etc. Other than these different types of co-curricular activities organised by different clubs and societies all years round.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is very much feasible with a total 4 year fees of around 10-15k only. The college is aided by state government and different alumni associations. The exam fees are also quite low which makes JU accesible for all people of society.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are different scholarship programs available to underprivileged students throughout India. They provide monitary help and reduction in Tution fees as well. There are loan facilities available in Tie-up with our partnered banks.
Campus Life
There are different types of co-curricular activities organised by different clubs and societies all years round. The club's include: photography, mountaineering, science, dance, painting, music, drama, quiz, etc touching all corners of student to take an active part as a member free of cost. All the club's are student run bodies funded by the University for any activity or event. The club room ambience is pretty friendly and has no inside politics.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is good and pretty reasonable. The hostel has capacity for over 2000 students and has over 8 blocks to accomodate students from all disciplines. The ambience is very good with proper senior guidance. Food is also very good.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is not as strong as in case of IIT but we have a very diverse alumni society spread across the globe. The society provides networks for organising events to even placements for the college. The seniors are very helpful and give proper guidance to choose our career path.
Admission
The steps are: 1. WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam) 2. Based on your merit rank and choices, alloted seats to respective department thorough different stages of counseling. 3. The final merit students get admission.
Faculty
The faculty is mixed type consisting of teachers of over 30 years of experience to new joiners. The method of teaching is to the current standards. The different teaching methods start from basic boardwork to smart classes. The teachers are very helpful and provide full support to all the students without any bias.
