Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is well balanced and relevant, gradually increasing the difficulty level and working hard on foundational concepts. IT integration could be improved and the VAC courses are quite useless, however, SEC courses are rewarding.
Internships Opportunities
The Placement Cell of the college conducts an Internship Fair and students get the opportunity to intern at premium consultancy and policy groups, stipend is rare but the experience is valuable according to interns.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fees for Year 1 was 21855 INR with no overhead fee requirements or scholarships received in my case. However, the university offers scholarship schemes and rationalised fee structures for SC/ST/OBC categories.
Campus Life
The societies are very active and provide excellent sources of learning teamwork, soft and hard skills. The annual fest Nexus is also a very vibrant event being one of the most popular across the DU circuit.
Admission
I got into all the colleges I applied to but picked SVC due to the legacy of DU and student testimonials raving about the environment, teaching quality and opportunities provided by the college societies.
Faculty
The faculty members are generally approachable and professional barring a few guest lecturers. The assessment scheme can be quite non-transparent at times which can be improved to ensure smooth grading.
Night Life
The college canteen offers cheap food options however even outside the college campus the adjoining area is very vibrant and has good food joints but can get a little unsafe due to the unregulated PG nexus.
