Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum of B.A. (Hons) Economics is up to the mark. Every concept of economics that will help us is covered in 3 years, including econometrics, etc. One drawback would be the additional AEC, SEC and VAC courses introduced, which help us a little but becomes a burden of the students.
Internships Opportunities
There is a dedicated Internship Cell of our college, which deals with internships. There are internship offers for students of every year. The highest stipend offered was 50000, with an average of 15,200 and a median of 15,000. Offers were given by more than 200 companies.
Placement Experience
There is a dedicated placement cell of our college. Last year, there were more than 200 offers rolled out with a gross package value of 18 crores plus. The median package was 8,40,000 per annum, and the highest package offered was 23,00,000 per annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am paying a semester fee of Rs. 31435. There is an additional fee of Rs. 1000-1500 each semester for the examinations. As far as I know, the fees for this semester has been increased from the previous semester.
Campus Life
Overall experience with college life has been good so far. In even semesters, we have the college fests and other societal fests, which are really exciting to visit. Moreover, our college library is really good, and it is fully air-conditioned with a large number of books present there. The sports and ECA offered are also good. Our college is the only college with a shooting range.
Admission
I had applied only to other DU colleges, including Shri Ram College of Commerce, St. Stephen's College and Hindu College. I could not get there as my CUET marks were not up to the cutoff limits of these colleges. But I am happy that I got into Hansraj College as according to me personally, it is far better than Hindu and Stephens in terms of academics, faculty and the way of teaching.
Faculty
The faculty members of the economics department are outstanding in our college. Some of the faculty members have been teaching from around 40 years in the college. Their knowledge and education are really good, and their method of teaching is exceptional.
Night Life
The nightlife around our college is really good. The Kamla Nagar market is never empty at any time. There are a lot of cafes and gyms in Hudson Lane. Sudama Tea Stall is a very famous tea stall near our college. Moreover the Kamla Nagar market is also jam packed all day long.
