Course Curriculum Overview

4

I personally like all the subjects I studied till now and I had a lot of interest studying Computer system architecture mathematics for computing and python so all the subjects I am loving them and now in the second semester the subjects have now got I am also having interest in them so talking about the influence I really liked and it is shaping my skills coming to the concept that how it is preparing me for the real world applications I don't think that in DU or in this curriculum we are being taught how we need to apply these skills in the real world that we need to do it ourselves only by actually opportunities and hands on experience the course should include more such activities practicals that gives students exposure of the real world application that would be my advice and the teaching methods I think the teacher should take more interest in the class and they should not saying that the student want study I think the teachers have such a mind said since the students don't fail of attention in the class they lose interest in teaching I think that almost and entire month is wasted this to give exams while almost everybody studies 2 days max to max 2 days and most of the people study at night one day before exam so wasting and entire month to take 5 6 subject exams for student is just to waste of time I think they should give less brakes and comes and and this exam session in maths to Max 15 or 20 days and the difficulty level is not at all difficult and you the paper comes very easy and you can easily pass it if you are studying even on last 3 days of the exam

Fees and Financial Aid

Pursuing a B.Sc. (Hons) in Computer Science at Hansraj College requires a significant academic and financial investment. This course has the highest fees at the institution due to its specialized lab needs and technical facilities. For students in the General, OBC, or EWS categories, first-year fees usually range from 45,000 to 55,000 INR. This includes a modest tuition fee of around 180 INR and larger costs like the laboratory and equipment fee of nearly 20,000 INR, a one-time admission fee of 1,000 INR, and a refundable caution deposit of 500 INR. The remaining amount consists of various required charges, such as the college development fund, library fees, athletics fees, and the University Student Welfare Fund, totaling about 25,000 INR for other services. In the second and third years, overall costs slightly decrease to between 38,000 and 43,000 INR because the one-time registration and caution fees are no longer required. While these costs apply to the General category, students from the SC, ST, or PwBD categories pay much lower amounts, often less than 5,000 INR per year. They receive exemptions from tuition and many other college fees to help ensure fair access to education. Importantly, Hansraj College does not have a Management category for admission; all seats go through the merit-based CUET process. To help students manage the financial burden, there are several scholarships available. The Inspire Scholarship for Science students offers up to 80,000 INR annually for high achievers. The Delhi University Vice-Chancellor’s Financial Support Scheme provides a fee waiver of up to 100% for students with a family income below 4 Lakhs INR. Additionally, merit-cum-need scholarships and the Sumitomo Corporation Scholarship offer further opportunities for financial assistance, often awarding between 20,000 and 30,000 INR to qualified candidates. This support helps make the total three-year investment of about 1.3 Lakhs INR more manageable for committed students.

Campus Life

Okay so yes we do have an annual fest which is not so good at Hansraj in other Delhi University colleges it is done pretty well for example in SRCC Hindu College and yes we do have Texas like I am then the computer science department so we have a taxes that we organise every year in the month of February and similarly we have other branch department fest as well and there is a wide variety and rate of books and journals I have a library which is of two floors and you have almost of all streams book for example and of all streams the facilities and technology provisions are very good we have smart labs and we have computer labs we have all kind of labs in the college and pretty good facility projector almost everything the sports and extra curricular activities are offered but it is totally dependent on you whether you are interested or not there is no such for particular thing that you have to be a part of so that activities and yes there are more than 60 societies and my college and you can actually participate in any of them by being a part of it you can give interview and part of the society or the cell and and contribute accordingly and there is very major impact on student life which is that it develops skills such as social scale communication skill

Admission

Okay so this was my first preferred college and the course I am currently doing is also my first preferred course so I did not apply to any other college or course I got the best choice and I did not get rejection from anywhere the reason of choosing this college was that the most best college renound and with the best infrastructure and in the ranking was Hansraj College out of all the colleges who are offering BSc honour computer science in Delhi University the admission process is very simple you can give it exam and then after that you will get your marks and based on your marks the cutoff of my course went around 780 and if you are scoring up of that out of thousand you can easily get admission in my course and English and mathematics is compulsory and any other two subjects based on the criteria you can take admission in my course

Faculty

3

Firstly the student faculty ratio is like pretty shocking one faculty teachers around 100 students in my course and it is not approachable until and unless you are very confident and an extrovert and your willing to learn for people who are introvert and can't really ask questions it is very difficult to contact or approach your faculty even five times throughout the semester essence I have just passed on semester I have personally not like any faculty a lot but there have been a few teachers I did not like reason that they are just a fresher and it was there first semester teaching just like me and the really don't know how to teach and it was like in the first semester they did not teach and entire unit out of the four units that they came in the paper and the teacher wasted teaching non important basic topics in the class there are total 7 subjects and you need to appear for all depending whether their practical or theory or both and you have to up your once in a semester very few students failed to clear the exam as it is said that in DU it is very difficult to fail I like my course and the subjects I am currently studying bird honestly speaking it is a little outdated in comparison to the recent developments and the technology and evolution and if I talk overall about all the courses the curriculum is very outdated

Remarks:

If you are going to Jamia Millia Islamia, do not expect any exposure. Once, graduated you'll get to know that you have now come out of the shell. Jamia is not just a University, it's sort of a state in itself. Also, the process of getting a provisional certificate or migration certificate is damn tedious. I've almost cried every day pleading them to dispatch my certificates as soon as possible. They work like sloths in the Controller of Examination branch. Apart from the negatives, you'll be blessed with amazing friends. The biggest Negative Remark - You can not score high like any other University. Do not compare your marks with DU students. Professors in Chemistry Department do not give more than 75%. If you are getting 70% in Jamia, it's equivalent to scoring 85% in DU with the same pressure and hard work.
