Course Curriculum Overview
Since, my course includes computer science electives, it is pretty much relevant to the current industry standards but standalone not that great, I would either require masters or speciliazations to get a good placement. I believe the physics lab experiments are absolutely irrelevant and I hate them because they are just unnecessary burdens with no actual purpose. Exam difficulty is easy to moderate and practicing previous year questions are enough to fetch you good marks. My course has three dicipline specific electives (Physics, maths and computer science) and the only subject I care about is cs.
Internships Opportunities
There are plenty of internship opportunities in our college but I have not yet availed one. There was research internship offered where we had to do research regarding backwater development in India. I couldn't complete the internship due to somepersonal reasons.
Placement Experience
The placement statistics are really good with number of offers being 200+ amounting to 18cr+ with median 8.4 lpa and average 9 lpa. And the highest package was offered from the computer science department which was 23lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
So, my fees for the course are 33k per year, which increased from 22k last year. All the categories pay the same fees. Here is the breakdown of the major components of the fee : University facilities and services charges - 1500 College development fund - 2000 College Lab maintenance fee - 2500 Portal and Network charges - 4000
Campus Life
Campus life is the biggest pros of this college and North campus as just infront of our college there is a very big big market called Kamala Nagar Market, which has every major food and clothing brand along with ample of street hawkers and vendor satisfying various student lifestyle needs. There is an in-house stationary in our college which has eveything we need. There are a lot of societies/clubs and I myself ampart of 7 of them. SPorts ground is big enough and well maintained with adequate infrastructure.
Admission
So my preferred college was Hansraj but my preferred course was computer science honours but unfortunately due to underperformance in one of the subjects I couldn't clear the cutoff. The admission to all the undergraduate courses of delhi university are done through common university entrance examination (CUET). The eligibility for my course was giving CUET exams for physics, maths and chemistry and scoring 420+/600 combined.
Faculty
There is a 1:20 faculty-to-student ratio. Guest faculties and the ones who have to manage a large no. of students are tough to form a relationship with and hence are less approachable, especially some of the guest faculties are not good at teaching and sometimes the students have to fend for themselves during exam preparation. While the permenant and the more experienced faculty members are usually more approachable and helpful.
Night Life
There are a lot of hangout spots near our college but since being a day scholar, I am yet to experience the night life of north campus. College is open till 5 p m and the library is open till 7 pm, while the gym is only reserved for students who are part of sport events etc. The famous hangout spot inside college is known as LP (Lover's point). Famous hangout place outiside the college is a teaspot known as Sudama's
