What Students Say
Likes
- I like how well maintained the campus and library of our college is.
- The faculty is also very responsive, and always available to help us students in case we ever get stuck.
- The food in the canteen and the water provided in the water coolers are seemingly drink able.
Dislikes
- The timings of the classes for same batch students we sometimes have to wait and adition hour just for our classes to begin.
- There seems to be a lack of chalks and dusters in classes everytime costing around 4 to 5 mins of study time.
- The segregation of same batch group further subdivided but having both the subgroups of the same group have lab classes on different days of the week.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum sometimes changes suddenly going from say equations to euclidean division algorithm or group theory, earlier these were separated subjects taught in different sems or as extra dsc, as such I find these sudden changes a little upsetting. They are still highly relevant to the course just like everything else that we are taught.
Internships Opportunities
There are many internships opportunities in the college, as a first year i haven't explored much of these but from reading online and consulting my seniors these provided them the necessary experience.
Placement Experience
the placements are fairly good, with high number of student gaining an average package of around 7-8 lakhs while high packages going from anywhere between 9 to 12 lakhs per annum depending on the selected du course.
Fees and Financial Aid
This is for year 1, upon admission i paid 36000 rupees, this was an acceptable amount as compared to same course in other du colleges. The scholarships offered in my college dell, reliance, hrc concession and various other society sponsonsored scholarships seemed to have good concessions based on the grades of a person.
Campus Life
the campus infrastructure is easy to navigate, classes and labs being segrated, as well as having a ground outside and 3 different buildings each having different room sizes for proper accomodation. A hostel on campus, canteen, open theatre, coffee shops.. etc
Admission
Other than hansraj I applied to hindu college, ramjas college and a few other du colleges. I chose those based on the faculty and reviews online that i found, i found ramjas college in du csas portal round one I also highly regard it as a top tier college but the faculty of hansraj had better reviews on sites like college dunia.
Faculty
The faculty as I said is highly responsive and always there to solve my doubts and help me in solving questions. I am specially grateful to my mentor Mr. Kapil Kumar who helped me out graciously during the mentor clearance form. i do not have a faculty i dislike, they are all trying their best to teach in their own ways I am ever grateful and find it quiet fun to analyze and try to learn through each teachers unique teaching ways. There are 2 internals for every subject, 1 main paper for every subject and few practicals for external subjects and 1 for main subject. I think most students passed the exams, i don't find this curriculum challenging it is fairly easy.
Night Life
I haven't been much around the campus at nights but it looks really bright and colourful, the trees are on lights and the areas around the campus are always full of lights and life. i enjoy these sights.
Other Applied Colleges
Hansraj College - [HRC] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Computer Science)
i found my first choice of course mathematics earlier than computer science
