What Students Say
Likes
- DTU has the best outing for Economics as economics societies and global competition are organised for us.
- Our university has many tie-ups and therefore MUNs and quizzes are regularly hosted at DTU.
- We have almost 100 students pool for intenrships every year.
Dislikes
- Most events are still hosted on main campus and not the East Campus which is ours.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our course teaches us what economics actually is and from macro to micro at each level what are the steps that developed and undeveloped economies have done. So not just the success stories but even the failing stories like Venezuela and Nigeria which are rich in minerals and yet how they fell apart is taught in our syllabus.
Internships Opportunities
Many diverse roles are offered for intenrships at DTU such as equity research, data analyst, market research and policy research. So, this year nearly 100 students appeared for the interview got internships and around 40 of them did got it.
Placement Experience
Around 80% of BAE students do get placement. In 2025, around 120 students applied for placements and nearly 90 of them were placed in top companies. Also, students of various other branches were placed much better than our branch as Economics Students Hons students are little less in demand.
Fees and Financial Aid
DTU BAE (Hons) is a boon for all Economics students as our course is GOAT among all. Also, DTU is the top rated university of North India and fees is easy for affording as it's 1.16 lakhs and though it has increased in last 2 years but still manageable. Also apart from exam fees there are no caption money charges by DTU.
Campus Life
There's a student activity cell in DTU and if one wants to form a new society they can form that. We already have 40 or so societies and the tech society is the only society which is not in East Campus. Coming to infrastructure it ain't that big and probably not that attractive too. However, we have all academic and technology enabled things in our campus. The sports facilities though are a little sparse.
Admission
Admission process is quite simple, you score around 600 in CUET and hold a Delhi Domicile and you are in. For outsiders the cut-off changes to 650+. So, for delhites it's easier to get here and that is why 90% students are from Delhi. Yes we therefore don't have a Cosmo crowd but a crowd largely to die for.
Faculty
Exams of DTU are way tougher than DU but atleast our timings are right and we do get breaks in between as well. Coming to the faculties some of the finest not just in the art and craft of teaching but on terms of teaching experience and posessing degrees too. I am so happy for them as they have been the shining light of it and somebody who have seen courses and policies change themselves.
Night Life
Our college is in Vivek Vihar Phase 2 which is primarily a residential place. So, Hauz Khaas Village, GK1, GK2 and Connaught Place are quite close to our campus. Hard Rock Cafe is everyone's favourite place to chill and so is mine too.
