Course Curriculum Overview

5

Knowing history is itself a contribution to one's life and character. When you see how the history of things were it teaches you a lot . History subject is about memorising dates but knowing history is just like knowing yourself in broader look. Yes if the subject is treated more less like a memorising conecpt it can be really revolutionisng for the whole society. Timing was 3 hours for a paper like 9:30 to 12:30 in morning. But for exam like EVS it was only 1 hour 9:30 to 10:30 in morning. The frequency of exams was considerate .

Internships Opportunities

4

For internships Kirorimal college holds a annual fair called levitate . In it many companies come like HDFC , ola , cobblestone mill , Zomato , Amazon ,etc. . I am not much aware about this aspect of our college.

Placement Experience

4

However I don't know much about the placement aspect of college but I know some basics like the package can be around 800000 or more .and the students become eligible only in the final years as far as I know . Various Companies visits to pick up students from various field like HDFC , ola , Cobblestone energy . Around more than 150+ students got placement from our college in the recent years. I will give upsc attempt after completing my degree .

Fees and Financial Aid

My fees is around 15000 ruppees and same goes for my batchmates . Almost everyone's fees is same . However exceptions are always there some with scholarships may have lesser fees to pay than me or others . Like there's a batchmate who comes under child with special needs his fees is totally paid by the college itself supporting his education and it's a great thing , his parents and he doesn't need to worry about the fees . The total academic fees for general /obc is around 15850 The total fees for SC/ST is around 15600. Registration fees for obc and general is ?250 whereas for SC/st it is ?100. And all types of lab fees, other types of fees is already included in that yearly fees .

Campus Life

5

Renaissance is an annual festival, it is held around March or April time . However I am not that into festivals . Kirorimal library is too vast , for the first time looking at it I was amazed . The library in total have more than one lakh books. It is totally a surprising number . There are Many Air contioned rooms and a lot of room having projector for the accessibility for presentation. During january sports fest is also celebrated, sports like badminton, cricket, chess etc. Are played . One more great thing is that women participants are made compulsory encouraging women participation in the sports activities. Yes , there is a personal social group of mine and the students involved in it are often called Seanites. In my group we talk and debate about the current affairs and topics in a Totally free manner . There are many other social groups as well , and also clubs run by students. The impact of such groups and clubs on individual is great as it directly shapes their mentality.

Admission

It was totally coincidental that I came into this college , I had no idea or specification for being in any specific college . All I wanted was to study History, that's it . I had applied many other colleges as well like st Stephen's, hindu , hasraj etc. I couldn't score enough to be in colleges that's all. The admission process of our college is simple. You just have to qualify cuet ug exam and score enough to be in the course .

Faculty

4

Yes , as I said earlier the one of the main thing I like in the college professors is that they don't look at the students as some kind of work to complete but they treat us like the upcoming future of the world . Thus they teach us with great enthusiasm and support. There is no particular faculty member I want to mention, all have special qualities in them making it next to impossible and unjustful to only select one . Dushyant sir , Vikram sir , Dhiraj sir and all other members are best . There were 6 written exams for us however subjects are 7 but one subject E tourism is totally practical based exam so no exam for it. The difficulty for exam isn't that high it is medium and which is reasonable.however there are no failures till now can't say of future. There is no specific disliking of me towards any member.

Night Life

5

Yes the nightlife is also great , some of my favourite night points are :- midnight point cafe of Malkaganj and the Teapine cafe and sudama tea stall branch in kamla nagar. The places remain alive even in midnight, and u can see people roaming and enjoying nights . Gym closes around 11-12 in night and other stalls get closed till 12 o clock in night . There is rarely open shop seen after it . The famous stalls are Tom uncle maggi point, sudama tea stall , midnight tea point etc. The locality is safe to roam around thanks to the security system .

Placement Experience:

placement and internship fares are regularly conducted on campus where various companies which are mostly start-ups visit to recruit students for internships and entry level roles. Students become eligible for internships from the first year itself. placement opportunities are generally available after the completion of the full degree and only final year. Students are eligible to apply for full-time rules. last during our last internship and placement fair over 20 companies visited and recruited almost 150 candidates. There are no separate records distinguishing internship from placement. The highest package reported for economics honours is around 12 lakhs per annum and the average package is approximately five lakhs per annum. As per my future plans,I intend to pursue a masters degree after completing my undergraduate course.

For USME, FMCG and Financial companies are the ones which are put in place. The only reason is that those are the companies where we can add value and placements of both courses of USME happens together and combined if I say around 75% students are placed. My plan though is to join GIPE after my graduation ends this year.

DTU because East campus is more known for USME placements revolve around us. Now core companies of our sectors are the ones that deals with finance, insurance or stocks. So nearly 20-30 companies of that space or sector hires over 100 students of BAE every year.

Many companies come as ever since USME has been installed at the east campus the tie-ups with the brands happened before that. So we were etaught accordingly the war corporate wanted us and that is how this has been done with solid precision and thus our placements have never jolted.

Our college has a very active and effective placement cell. Major companies like Goldman Sachs, Bain among many others come on campus for not just placements but also internships. Average and Median packages are between 8 and 10 lakh per annum, with highest packages going up to 25 lakhs. Many also go for postgraduate education, such as MBA after CAT, or to reputed colleges like the DSE for MA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Too vague to understand, feels extra burden of unnecessary irrelevant topics , extra papers like SEC/VAC simply add to the burden while barely providing with any skills and values as their name suggests . Studying them and preparing for exams add extra stress and unnecessary burden on them , diverting their focus from their core papers , which are already too huge and they study materials or readings simply fail to assist . Areas for improvement would be - proper structured study materials , also proper structured practical subjects / papers for students where they can actually learn or gain knowledge/skills which will be advantageous in their future .
