What Students Say
Likes
- Exposure opportunities of various kinds of societies and cells along with competitions and events almost on a weekly basis, which keeps the college life engaged
- Experienced faculty, my faculty have minimum 5-10 years of experience of teaching the undergraduate level which helped us to gain better insights of our subjects
- Total strength kam h compared to other colleges somewhat 3000-4000 must be the total college strength out of which only 50-60% come regularly, it gives the rest to grab more opportunities along with quality peers
Dislikes
- Lack of better placement opportunities on campus, opportunities are there with an active placement cell , but opportunities available are not sufficient both qualitatively and quantitatively , this can be improved by welcoming big corporates
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum itself is offered under delhi University is the biggest pro of this college I liked the aspect that it tries to capture the essence of holistic development by introducing skill enhancement courses, value addition courses and ability enhancement courses It also facilitates dynamic learning experience by offering the courses from different departments such as general electives I still believe that there is a space for improvement in the applicability of this course in the real world as the world is growing at a fast paced and we need to prepare ourselves with everything we can Intership opportunities, live projects of certain subjects , increased field trips and introduction of ai courses Frequency is good ,1 per semester which helps students to take on different ventures also and the difficulty level is mixed depending upon the subject but ranges from moderately easy to difficult
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid 18741 for second year in bcom hons I paid around 17000 approx for first year This is pretty much it there are not any compulsory major charges above this except the university examination form which is around 1500-2000 ( depending on course selection) per semester There are multiple scholarships available for the students below 6 lakhs of annual income
Campus Life
Campus life decent hai People here are friendly and ready for exposure and exploration I am involved in multiple societies like commerce society , entrepreneurship cell and the Deshbandhu Express, Infrastructure is also decent a large library, canteen and cafeteria spaces along with gardens are good but this could've been agr yha ek ground hota for sports activities, which is very major Annual fest is sabrang ,held in March, along diwali fest and departmental fest are ther on a monthly basis
Admission
I gave cuet examination to enter into Delhi University which was my primary objective In this after getting the scoresheet we have to prepare a preference list and then we are allotted accordingly I ranked my current course and college ay around 12th preference and the other north campus colleges were at the top but since I scored 704/800 i didn't get those and ended up here Other colleges such as SRCC and hindu college offer a better exposure, crowd and placement opportunities compared to my college Primary reason for choosing my college was its NIRF ranking, early establishment, location- South Delhi and decent reviews
Faculty
Approximately there is 1 teacher for every 25-30 students at our college Faculties I liked are actually all of those who taught me from sonam tomar ma'am to arushi ma'am everyone there is no faculty i disliked Every faculty got their pros and cons but everyone is decent in some way or other There is only one theory and practical examination per semester which is end-sem The fail percentage is very low from my course hardly 2-3 students got back that too in a single subject Course curriculum is very relevant in today's world But ofcourse there is a lot of space for improvement too because the world is dynamic and things are changing every moment
Night Life
See there is no such night life as this is a day college and it closes at 6 pm Also new Delhi area is not safe to be outside after 11 pm Although in day time there are ample places Under 20-30 mins You can reach lotus temple, iskcon temple, kalkaji Temple, hauz khas etc Exploring these new places with friends gave me a bliss , my life away from home got better with these memories
