Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course I have choosen is bcom honours which is bachelor's in commerce. It is one of the most renowned course of delhi university and there are top three colleges which offers it that is SRCC hindu and Hansraj. And students prefer Hansraj as best to be choosen for bcom honours.

Internships Opportunities

4

The internship opportunities by the college are basically the paid ones. Mainly the students themselves get into various intership opportunities through various platforms like linkedin and all . Various societies provide live project opportunities to the students.

Placement Experience

5

The college placements are really good. The college even has a placement cell that works quite well. The lowest package offered by the college is of 8 lakhs and the highest is around 30 lakhs something. Many renowned companies come in for the placement. The highest package goes from bcom honours.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure provided by the college is very reasonable as it is a government college. So I pay an annual fees of 28,000 rupees. The fees differ from caste to caste. The lowest fees are paid by the ST and SC category. There are various scholarship programs as well. The one which we got to know is the Dell aspire scholarship. In this scholarship you even get a laptop but this scholarship is provided only to very few students

Campus Life

5

The college life is quite happening. There are many societies present in the college for students engagement. The most famous one is comsoc that is the commerce society of Hansraj College. There are various fests that also take place the most famous one is confluence which takes place in the month of March. There are various sports offered by the college there is reservation itself for the sports quota.

Admission

So the selection in the college is done through an examination known as CUET that is common university entrance test. So one needs to fill the preference sheet so for bcom honours my preference where SRCC , hindu and then hansraj. So the marks obtained then gives you the college

Faculty

4

The faculty members of our college is good. The professors carry a great number of degree with them . Many of them are having phd degree as well. I am from bcom honours which has the biggest faculty as it is the most renowned course provided by our college. The faculty members use various teaching procedure like power point presentation, group discussions so to engage the students in the classroom and built there interest. The college conducts 1 exam in each semester so in 1 year there are 2 semester so there are 2 exams. The main core paper gets 3 hours to write 90 marks content. There are various assignments given during the semester for the internal marking. So overall the faculty is good and well educated.

Night Life

5

The most famous spot around our college is sudama tea stall. The whole north campus area gives a different vibes . One can comfortably take a walk in the night and evening during the north campus area . The students are not allowed in the college in the night. But the hostel gates are opened for the hostelers . College gate closes at 7p.m .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the BCom Hons course curriculum at SBSC around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. One of the main reasons I chose this course was because it offers a good mix of commerce subjects like Financial Accounting, Business Law, and Corporate Law, along with exposure to Economics and Management, which seemed useful whether I go for MBA or competitive exams later. The first-year subjects felt more like a base, but from second semester onward it started to get a bit more practical. Each subject has 25 marks for internals and 75 for the main exam. Most exams are 3 hours long and subjective, and I’d say the difficulty level is moderate. If you’ve been regular with notes and study the past papers, it’s not hard to pass, but getting 8+ CGPA requires consistent effort. Overall, the curriculum gives a decent foundation but it could be way better if more practical components and industry exposure were added.

When students enter 3rd year of their college , they are eligible to sit for placements but should have minimum 8 CGPA .A lot of companiess visit campus , details of companies are on the website of college. The highest placement till now is 20 Lakhs per Annum and average goes around 6-7 Lakhs per Annum. A decent percentage of students get placed. Honestly most students here are pursuing professional courses so they don't sit for placements instead continue with their courses .
