My academics and campus life at amity university kolkata

I would rate the course curriculum as relevant and comprehensive. One of the main reason I chose this course was the structured balance it offers between theory and practical application. Subjects such as physics, chemistry, maths are particularly influential because they helped me in not only understanding the concepts but also helps in learning how they are implemented in real scenarios. This classroom learning and hands on experience has contributed to building a strong foundation for both real world industry requirements and further academic growth. The university should implement the new curriculum that helps students to get their dream job and that cann help them in solving real world problems. There are two internal exams and one one external exam with moderate level of difficult.

The companies that i have mentioned for job roles also come for internship and also other then that. They offers role for SDE, Web developer, App developer, Data Analyst and many more. Some of the companies give stipend on monthly basis but some are unpaid. For example, for SDE: Tasks: Assisted in coding, debugging and testing features in a team environment. Project: Developed a small module for user login authentication using python/javascript. Outcome: Improved understanding of clean coding practices, version control (Git), and teamwork in agile development.

Yes, there is a placement cell at the university campus. It conducts placement related activities and programs for the students. Students are eligible for the campus placement from the 5th semester. Some companies visit the campus to hire the students. Some of the companies are E&Y, SAP, Deloitte, TCS and they have made total approximately 40 offers out of 100 students. The highest and average package of our university is 28Lakhs and 5-6Lakhs for the role of SDE. The percentage of students getting placements if about 40-45%. The seniors told me that the companies offer good packages to the students. I am in my second year so I do not have much information about it. After completing degree from this university, I'm thinking to appear for GATE examination as I want to do my Master's from IIT's.

The total fees that I'm paying is around is 10Lakhs. This is because I got the scholarship on the basis of my 12th marks. But the total actual fees is around 12,50,000 and there is also one time security deposit of 20,000, which will be refunded after graduation. There is no any other hidden fees like registration fee, admission fee, development fee, lab fees. All the students are paying the total fee of 12,50,000 (hostel not included). But, they provide a scholarship on the basis of your 12th percentage. Like if you are having more than 85% in your 12th boards then you will definitely get the scholarship of 25%, if you are having more than 90% then you will get scholarship of 50% and if you are having more than 95% then you will get 100% scholarship.

My campus life at this university is good till now. It is so interesting. The campus is not much crowded. There are many clubs present at the campus around 12 to 15 clubs. The university conducts several types of events and annual fests(like Amiphoria in Feb) for the students. It also conducts technical festivals, seminars and workshops on the monthly basis. It also celebrated various festivals such as Navratri etc. The university also invites Bollywood celebrities to perform at the fests. Overall, my campus life at Amity University Kolkata is above average. The campus is fully air conditioned and wifi enabled. The campus has library consists of 10,000+ books, different types of labs such as Matlab, seminar, auditorium, conference halls etc. The campus is full equipped with indoor play zone, basketball court, badminton court, football turf etc.

I have applied in total 3 colleges, out of which one is Amity and the other two are Parul and Galgotias and I got selected in both the colleges. I have not chosen Parul university because it was very far from my hometown and haven't chosen Galgotias because the environment was not good. But, in Amity, this college is close to my hometown and the environment is also good here. For admission in Amity, you have to fill their admission form that will cost you around Rs 1000 then student have to show them their 12th marksheet and then they will get selected on the merit basis and they can also get the scholarship if they lie in their eligibility criteria that I have mentioned earlier. When you get selected, then you will have to attend a online virtual interview, and after passing the interview round you will get your admission offer letter.

Some of the faculties at Amity University Kolkata are good while some are average. The teachers have done research work and also completed their Ph.D from prestigious institution. their teaching stylish so good and they also help in our academics. They teach us with the help of ppts, videos, GDs, blackboard etc. Almost all the faculty members are approachable. You can also approach them after the classes. The teacher to student ratio is around 1 : 40 which is not bad according to me. i cannot directly give name of the faculty members whom I like or dislike that will not be a good step. There are two internal exams and one external exam and the level of the exams are moderate. Almost every student use to pass the exam. Only some of them could not able to make it. Yes, this university also follows the old curriculum as same as other universities. Overall, the academics of this university are average.

The topics of group discussion are always on the placement scenarios, internship scenarios etc. And there is no test for admission. There is no other hidden criteria other than mentioned in the previous topic. You don't need to do preparation for any rounds as there is no admission test.

Yes, the locality of the campus is good and anyone can roam late night or do hangouts. After classes, students used to go to gym for workout, some used to go to cafeterias for fun and hangout. There are 2 gyms outside the campus at 2 km and many cafeterias outside the campus and 1 cafeteria(CCD) inside the campus. Campus in time is around 8PM and the hostel in time is around 10PM.
