Course Curriculum Overview

4

I made the decision for B.Sc. Hons Mathematics in KMCfor my interest in pure mathematics. Although , the curriculum of the course is good, but to NEP, we have to study subjects like Hindi in our AEC, which is very irrelevant to the curriculum and also our several important hours gets wasted. In mathematics, we deal with proofs and theorems, which now seems out-dated in modern context. There is very less focus on real world applications in the traditional teachings. Improvements can be done by adopting new practical learning base subject for real life exposure. Exams are much on the easier side, can be excelled with practice and revision.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are many internship oppotunities availiable to the students from the 2nd year itself and every students gives their best to secure a one. The placement cell also conducts workshops, seminars , case competitions to make the students industry ready. Major companies like picapool, tele force, zoho, meta, deloitte, Dell, amazon, google and many more come to the campus every year. They hire students on various roles like junior intern, junior executive, interim head, solution consultant, financial management, business analyst and many more. THey usually gets stipends in the range of rupees 10000 to 15000 and also above, depending upon the skillsets of the individual.

Placement Experience

4

Most of the students plan to go for higher studies like for MBA, masters with different specializations while some prepares for various government examinations like UPSC, CAT, SSC CGL,etc. The students become eligible for placements by the fianl year itself. Around 30% of the students get campus placements in various big companies like deloitte, zoho, airtel, meta, picapool, amazon, zepto, flipkart and many more. According to last year palcement records, the highest package was above 20LPA while the average package was around 7 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The detailed fees structure just has a little bit difference for unreserved and reserved categories. For the unreserved the fees is rupees 17115 while for the other, it is also much similiar only as it is already very low and affordable. There are separate fee provisons but this fees itself includes tuition fees, registration fees, sports and eca fees and also the various facilities and amenities provided in the campus. From the previous years, it had rose high minutely. The university od deldi actively rolls out forms for scholarships and some NGOs coluntarily help students financially.

Campus Life

4

KMC is one of the most peaceful and beautiful colleges of north campus. The campus life here is epic, vibrant societies, brilliant students, supportive seniors, encouraging professors and what not. The annual fest of the college is RENNAISSANCE and also various college societies have their events throughout the calender. There is even a separate buildinf allocated for library and with 3 reading halls for students to study peacefully. The classrooms contains projectors, smartboards, air-conditioners with ventilations and well-spaced rooms. THe sports and eca are very much encouraged and also given attendence benefits by the professors themselves.

Admission

Among the different colleges that I got selected into , I chose KMC B.Sc. hons maths for my career plans in data sciences. Other colleges were also good, but still lag behind in terms of overall development considering both acadmeics, sports and extra-curriculars. Admission process is very smooth, just pass your 12th boards. After that there is Cuet exam in which there need to be much better score as the cutoff goes very high usually for this college and course. Then there is the csas rounds of allocation for getting the college.

Faculty

4

KMC has one of the most experienced and excellent faculties, especially in the department of mathematics. They have various research works and article on many emerging topics in mathematics. In total, there are 17 pofessors from every age group in dept of mathematics. They are very helpful, kind and suuportive and also very lenient with attendance and assessments. The exams are held in a pattern consisting of internal assessments, continous assessments, midsems and endsems. They are very much doable and one can score a CGPA of 8.5 and above with regular practice and revision.

Night Life

3

The nightlife at KMC is even more exciting than the days as the classes get over, the north campus feels too enthralling to wander around. There is a college gym also with training gears and equipments to ensure physical fitness of students. In the campus itself, there are much cafeterias like the college canteen , kirorian cafe and the hostel canteen. The hostel life is all about bonds of brotherhood and comradeship, the more you are united, the more you enjoy together. The best spots to hangout in north campus are codebreak60 and arcade gamezone for games and fun, tom uncle maggi point, sudama tea stall for chit chat and refreshments and many more.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of Hansraj College is quite active. You are eligible to sit for campus placement offers from 5th semester onwards. Companies like Deloitte, capgemini arw frequent recruiters for several posts and positions. The highest offered package is somewhere around 22000 with the average being at 700000-800000. Not all students get placed on campus, however thr hands on training and learning makes you industry ready, making you eligible amd worthy to apply for off campus placement opportunities. Many students prefer not to sit for campus placements and rather opt for higher studies after graduation. I plan to do the same after getting my undergraduate degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think the BSc Statistics (H) offered by Sri Venkateshwara College has been quite relevant and comprehensive in content. The core courses such as probability, inference, regression, and econometrics were the major reasons for opting for the subject of statistics. It provides us in-depth analytical training that is necessary for higher education and work in the field of data, though there is a need for exposure to software/tools as well. The semester-wise examination, which is moderately tough

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is just like any other college, and you need to do a lot of the skill enhancement by yourself. Here, you will learn something, but not everything that is relevant. The professors will teach according to the syllabus, be it really relevant in real life or not. Everything that you will be learning will be relevant for career in this field, but not enough. You require to put some extra efforts to gain more knowledge and practice.

Students typically become eligible from 3rd year/6th semester onwards for most companies. Some internships and tech roles may be available to 2nd-year students depending on the company criteria. Placement Percentage: Usually, 70–85% of eligible students get placed, depending on the stream. Highest placement rates are often in Computer Science, Economics, and Commerce streams. My plan is to become a software engineer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Cource curriculum is highly relevant. It covers fundamental and advanced concepts of zoology , which was the main reason I choose this course. Subjects like human physiology, biochemistry, biomolecules, comparative anatomy of vertebrates, animal behaviour, ...etc. are highly interested and align with my interest. Practical components help in developing and understanding concepts more clearly. However, real world applications is limited. Curriculum prepare students well for further academics for PG or other competitive exams. Exam system is conducted at regular intervals with Internal assessment and semester end. Timings are appropriate . Difficulty level is moderate to high.

Hindu College, Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Mathematics)
Reviewed on Jan 6, 2026(Enrolled 2025)

Course Curriculum Overview:

For B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics at Hindu College, the curriculum follows the latest DU UGCF?2022 structure, so it covers both strong theory and some modern applications. The main reason to choose this course is the depth in core areas like Calculus, Algebra, Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and Probability, which builds a very solid base for higher studies like M.Sc, data science or research. There are six semesters with continuous internal assessment plus end?semester exams, so students study regularly instead of only before finals. Exams are usually moderate to difficult because questions are concept?based, but the pattern is fair and gives weightage to assignments, tutorials and attendance. Overall, the course is quite comprehensive and relevant for careers in teaching, analytics, government exams and higher academics, though adding more practical projects, programming and real?life modelling could make it even more industry?oriented
