What Students Say

Likes

The professors out there are really great with ample amount of knowledge in their field.
Societies and extracurricular activities are very active offering great exposure and opportunities.
The fee structure is very affordable facilitating education for all.

Dislikes

The infrastructure, washrooms and canteen need maintenance.
No placements for non technical courses.
Administrative workings are very slow at times.

Course Curriculum Overview

My curriculum does involve all aspects of commerce like accounting, finance, economics, business law providing a strong foundation.Du guidelines are being followed. A little more practical touch is required in my opinion.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 13990 per year

Placement Experience

The campus placement is fairly good with kpmg, Deloitte, Genpact, Accenture. The average package usually ranges from Rs 5-6 LPA while highest have gone to Rs 23 lakhs in recent years. The placements are bagged by proactive students usually with good communication skills and academic records.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fee for Bcom hons at Dyal Singh College is around Rs 12000- Rs 14000 including tuition, development and other compulsory charges.The overall fee remains stable with a minor increase of Rs 200 or so each year.Fee concessions is available for sc/st and ews students as per DU norms.

Campus Life

Overall campus life at Dsc is really vibrant. There are many active societies and cells including drama, dance, music, photography, NSS/NCC. The Library is spacious and air conditioned and the grounds are spacious and full of greenery.A downside is that there are no hostel accommodation provided by college due to which many students have to pay hefty amounts at PGS.

Admission

I chose DU over AMU because the exposure here in Delhi is more than Aligarh in terms of internship, networking and career prospects.Also the course that I am pursuing is best available in DU rather than any other college. Du offers diverse crowd, stronger academic as well as extracurricular activities.

Faculty

The faculty of the Bcom hons course at Dyal Singh College is experienced and approachable, always ready to guide beyond classrooms. The course structure follows CBCS under DU ensuring a mix of elective, core and skill based papers.The curriculum is focused on both theoretical and practical aspects of commerce. The examination system includes internal assessment through assignments and class tests along with semester exams.

Night Life

Nightlife is fairly Lively for a college area including more of cozy cafes than night clubs.Nearby area includes nehru place, Connaught place, karol bagh etc with metro connectivity where students often go to grab a bite, chill or hangout with friends.

My preference leaned more towards DU.

DBC the best

Life at Deshbandhu

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our college is amazing, bringing many internship and pre-placement offer opportunities to the students. The average package being between 5-7 LPA, and the highest package grossing over 20 LPA. Around 60-80% of the students get placements. If i don't get a placement, I'd presue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

From 5 semester students are eligible for college placements and my college placements on a scale of 10 is 6 . It's good compare to other colleges also name of the companies that visited in our college are DE SHAW &CO, EY, AMAZON and many more. Highest package offered last year was 23 LPA and average package is 7 LPA . 45% of students get placements from campus my plans after getting my degree is to give MBA exam

In short you should have 0 to 10 percent expectations from placement cell there is almost zero or close to 10 percent or less placement and internship opportunities. I applied to various colleges under Delhi University and got merit based admission in Dyal Singh College in English Hons programme in first cutoff. While in others, my admission was not confirmed basically because of the high cutoff like St. Stefan College etc. I am really glad to be admitted in this college which gave me many oppurtunities and a great faculty with wonderful campus. College life in Dyal Singh College

I applied for this college in first round of csas and freezed i didn't for any other college .The exam required for admission is CUET. my course is BSc physical science with chemistry and to be eligible for this course you need to have pcm in class 10+2.In cuet you need to give paper of pcm and a language is compulsory . Call of the Unbiased

Admissions are done through CUET UG and then CSAS counselling. The Science department of Dyal Singh College is one of the best in all of off-campus.
