Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is highly relevant and has interesting subjects in it. The curriculum includes subjects like GIS, DTSS, Geology, GNSS, GND, apart from core geoinformatics subjects, we are also taught subjects of IT from the 3rd year itself, which helps in our campus placements as it contains subjects like DSA, DBMS, Web Mapping and Web GIS etc. Exams keep happening every month of the semester, in which some are CTs and Practice tests. The major exams that are our mid sems and end sems, happen twice in the whole semester.

Internships Opportunities

4

Many companies visit the main campus for internships, also one of our senior got internship at Apple, that was the major highling this year for Geoinformatics branch on the placement chart. Companies that came for internships were apple, attlasian, microsoft, goodle, adobe and many other big names. Make projects based on QGIS if you want to go for core based job opportunities, as DRDO, ISRO also came for intern, and many students made to it.

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible for placements after their 6th semester. Although companies keep coming on the campus from the 5th semester itself for internships and all. Placements here are okayish as the branches offered are not so demanding and companies prefer CSE/IT students for majority of roles in the placement seaon. All big companies visit NSUT main campus and west campus students have the same opportunites to apply on the companies as the placements are centralised given you fulfill the CGPA and branch criteria.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees in this college is on the higher side, for the 4 years of my Btech, I will be paying around 12 lakh rupees. There are also various scholarships available in the college, but there is not any fix time or regulations for it. Like, currently, I'm in 3rd year and still I have not received my scholarship of 1st year. The application form for the 1st year scholarship just released a few months ago, when I already came in 3rd year. Also there isn't any guarantee when will we receive the amount in our bank accounts. Fees in this college keeps increasing at around 10% rate. NSUT also has its own scholarship called CVSPK which they offer to top 5% students depending on the merit list.

Campus Life

3

The campus life is on the bad side here. It is I think the most concerning part of this college, as the college is located in Jaffarpur Delhi, and the nearest metro station is around 1hr away from campus, also for girls the campus and surronding does'nt feel safe. All basic facilities are provided here, there are not any such compromises in the facilities, just the campus is not so big and the surrounding are feel unsafe

Admission

I did applied for other Jac Delhi colleges like DTU, NSUT(Main campus), IIIT Delhi, but I was not getting branch of my interest in those colleges, thats why I picked up NSUT West Geoinformatics. I could have also went for CSE in any of these colleges but my JEE mains rank wasn't enough for that. Admission process is quite easy, you just have to register for JAC Delhi counselling and you will get the respective college and branch according to you rank.

Faculty

4

The facuty here is highy qualified and helpful at the same time. Altough students here are not so willing to attend classes. The faculty to student ration in our class is 1: 57. Nigam sir, sajeev sir and anjani sir are one of the most helpful faculties here. On the other hand Navdeep sir is on the stricter side. The course structure is good, teacher give enough marks depending on the answers mentioned on the sheet.'

Night Life

3

NSUT west campus doesn't have hostel, students here have taken PGs near NSUT main campus. There is not any Gym in the cammpus, library timings are from 10AM to 5PM, Monday to Friday, there are not much hangout places near the campus, but still you can take bus and travel to Dhansa Metro Station, that is also the nearest metro station from the college

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi Technological University - [DTU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

I coudn't clear the cutoff for the specific branch that I neeeded to join this college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

Placement Experience:

The placements are in good terms, many students get a placement with nice package. Students become eligible for campus placements from 3rd Semester. TCS made about 7 offers as far as I know. One can expect the highest package of 2.5crore and an average of 200000. About 80% of students gets placement because of the skills they learned wheres the rest 20% are only at college to do mischievous acts. After getting the degree, I will find a job and then after enough capital I will start my own startup.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The frequency of the exams is 2 times a year once in the month of December and once in the month of May. Internal exams (tests) are conducted in between to continuously evaluate you during the course. According to me, the exam should be conducted before itself, so that we can get more time for internship opportunities.
