Likes
- Our college is equipped with a lot of good professors who knew the subject in depth.
- They will also help anyone preparing for UPSC ESE or GATE.
- The placement committee will also work hard to bring as many companies as possible.
Dislikes
- Attendance criteria were too strict which was not necessary especially in 3rd year.
- Campus size is depressing like no play ground no proper cafeteria but just beside our college was HITK which had proper playground and cafeteria.
- Some teachers were arrogant and stubborn.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Electrical Engineering because of it's high relevance in PSUs. But later I changed my decision to pursue GATE. I feel if someone studies well for MAKAUT exams he/she will definitely do well in GATE as well. Course curriculum could be improved by introducing industry relevant courses.
Internships Opportunities
So many companies came to our college for internship mostly they were IT companies. I did my internship from Cognizant. But if someones grabs another internship opportunities our college will gladly allow him to do so.
Placement Experience
The placement committee will work hard to bring companies and during my batch 2018-2022 almost every IT companies came and almost 90% of our batchmates got placed, some of them even got more than 1 offers. Highest package was grabbed by CSE folks 32 LPA Amazon SDE.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees that I paid was close to 1 lakh. The tution fee per semester was roughly 43000 and added to that there was a library fees which was 500 and student welfare fees which was 750. The caution deposit was 20000. The management category students paid way more than us (who joined via WBJEE). The scholarships which was available was SVMCM and WBFS.
Campus Life
Our college has many fests like the tech fest, paridhi, cultural fest, freshers welcome. Our library has a collection of vast number of books for MAKAUT exams, GATE exams, UPSC ESE exams, one can participate in cricket or football or any sports they liked. We have student run social groups as well.
Admission
I applied to a lot private and government engineering colleges and I got offer from Sudhir Chandra Sur Institute of Technology but I wanted a college with a bit more reputation in placements. So i kept on looking for other colleges then i got offer from MSIT and decided to join there. Our college accepts JEE, WBJEE, JECA. I got through WBJEE.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio for electrical engineering department was roughly 60 to 1. And our college will carry out internal exams just like MAKAUT guidelines which is 4 internals per semester and the internals exams are just like mock test for university exams. Do well in the internals you will do well in semester exams as well.
Night Life
We unfortunately do not have gyms, we do have a small cafeteria which closes by 5.30 pm we do not have hostels and our college opens at 10 am and closes after 5 to 5.30 pm. Unfortunately there is not much to enjoy a life outside college.
