What Students Say
Likes
- The infrastructure is top notch compared to most colleges in Delhi University. The campus has centralised AC in classrooms as well as the library. There are Smart Boards as well, desks are of good quality, classrooms are big and campus is clean.
- The environment is well behaved. Even at the peak of DUSU Elections there is much less politics going on in the campus as compared to other colleges. You won't see any fights going on and there is peace in the campus.
- You get a lot of networking opportunities. When you sit with top students of DU you get new ideas, you connect with people who will be going to the to companies. This will definitely benifit you in the future.
Dislikes
- There is less diversity in the the college as there are only two course (also the SRCC GBO) in the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course bcom hons itself has become very old and no changes have been made to the syllabus as well. SEC, VAC and AEC subjects just add more burden to the student and does not teach any real-world applications.
Internships Opportunities
Students are eligible for internships from their 3rd semester. Last year highest stipend was 2.2 lakhs and avg stipend was 45k. In total 120 offers were received and companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PWC and Barlays visited the campus.
Placement Experience
In the 5th semester of your course you become eligible of campus placements. Companies like DE Shaw, BCG, Deloitte, EY, KPMG and Google visit. Last year around 100+ companies visited and 520+ offers were made highest package was 36 lpa and avg package was between 8 lpa to 11 lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
For Bcom Hons UR Category the annual fee is ?33000. The fee has increased slightly compared to previous years but for EWS the fee is less. There is also an option to take scholarship for the EWS category. There is no additional fee that is to be paid like development fee, lab fee or registration fee.
Campus Life
The campus life here will never let you get bored. Various events like the Crossroads, Business Conclave, TedX keep happening here making the campus life interesting. Moreover, we have a big library having book in various disciplines. Talking about sports so there is a sports complex in which we can play basketball, badminton, table tennis, football and cricket. There are more than 50 societies in SRCC so no matter what your interest you will find a society that you like.
Admission
This college was my first preference and it was the first because as I have already said, it has the best infrastructure, best societies, best opportunity to make connections and network with people. The Placement Cell of SRCRC is top notch and the best in DU.
Faculty
I think the faculties are the same in SRCC as they are in DU. Some are very approachable and understand students' problems as well but some don't. I won't say they are the best in teaching. Most students don't listen attentively in class. Also some are Guest Lecturers so they are not regular as well. Coming to the course, we have three main subjects in Bcom Hons and 1 AEC, SEC, VAC and GE. In AEC we either learn Hindi or EVS. SEC and VAC are just complete waste of time. Exams are actually easy. We get options in all Questions so most of the students easily pass in the exam.
Night Life
I mean the college is in Delhi so everyone fear (both girls and boys) and some don't go late at night. As for the hangout spots there is Hudson Lane. Also there are various other markets around which one can explore.
