Course Curriculum Overview

3

The reason I choosed B.A economics honours is because of its syllabus covering depth and variety of subjects. The syllabus doesn't only cover the theory but also makes a student career ready and ability to understand real life problems. The blend of subjects like microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, development economics with mathematics and statistics make us ready to apply all this in real life in areas like finance sector, banking, consulting, etc. One thing I would like to get change in the course is more inclusive of skill development like data driven tools python, stata, excel modeling. It should also approach of integration with others subjects like political science, law, etc. The exam differs from moderate to tough level. Economics honours course requires conceptual clarity, rote learning wouldn't help here. It makes the solid foundation.

Internships Opportunities

4

There is placement cell runned by students who creates things easy between recruiter and students. There were 115+ offers for internship in 2024 with highest stipend of 3.67 lakh per month and average stipend of 40 thousands per month. There are different companies who provide internship like Deloitte, EY, McKinsey, Pwc, zomato, etc in various roles like consulting analyst intern, finance intern, policy intern, etc. Student works in different projects like consulting, finance, startup and policy projects, etc.

Placement Experience

4

Heard of Srcc and not of its placement, isn't that impossible? Whether it's Google, Big 4, Microsoft, SBI or Zomato- everyone comes to this beautiful campus. The highest package of Srcc for undergraduate degree in 2024 was 35lpa and the average was 8.63lpa. It not only provides jobs but also provides internship opportunities to explore your field. Students are provided with 500+ offers for placement and 114+ offers for internships with different profiles in finance, consulting, etc. Student from 2nd year are eligible for internships.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for both undergraduate degrees i.e.Bcom hons and BA Eco hons is around 33000 per year. This is for the unreserved and OBC category. There is some concession for SC, ST and PwBD students. This is the fee for all the facilities excluding the semester end exams. End semester exam fee depends on whether the subjects are practical or theory, approx 1000-2000 per semester. It also provides various scholarships for deserving students throughout the year based on merit.

Campus Life

4

Whether you are a study oriented student or student who wants to explore a chill college life, this campus gives you all the experience. It not only provides you with an extra competitive environment but also the annual fest 'Crossroads and Business conclave'. These both annual fest are held in month of march. It provides Library which has thousands of book from all fields, sports complex having a space for every game whether it kho kho, badminton, chess or tennis. All classrooms are fully air conditioning and had smart boards. With 60+ societies spanning music, dance, dramatics, finance, consulting, and more, SRCC has something for everyone.

Hostel Facilities

4

Srcc provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls for all the year. The admission for hostels is based on the cuet score for the first year and sem results for remaining years. The hostel has all the basic facilities like mess, refrigerator, oven, wifi, common room, etc. You will see a small version of India in hostels and will find people from everywhere. Hostel fee is around 60000 per year exclusive of mess, water and electricity bill. 4- times meals is provided in a day. However student residing in Delhi and NCR cannot apply for hostel. If anyone wants to take pg or flats there are various options in kamla nagar, roop Nagar, gtb Nagar with negligible distance from college.

Admission

I was in my 11th when I first heard of Srcc and thought how can I miss this. Known as Asia's Number 1 college of commerce, SRCC truly means this in the terms of Excellent academics, Dedicated and inspiring faculty, lively and vibrant campus, great placement record, premier location, 60+ societies and the brightest student from all over the country and neighbouring country. The reason I choose SRCC over other colleges is because it provides the best environment for self and societal growth where you want to join the BIG 4, be an CA,IAS finance minister, start your own startup, be a political leader-it is a beautiful space for everyone. The eligibility criteria for both the courses are that one should complete their 12th grade. The admissions are based on cut off Cuet Ug. For economic hons a student must have maths in his/her 12th grade. And for bcom hons a student must have accountancy/ maths in his/her 12th grade. The process is highly competitive and stressful.

Faculty

4

The faculty at SRCC are very dedicated, inclusive and friendly. Their method of teaching is 'The best'. They had studied from the best institute in the country. The method of studying in SR includes all the ways like group discussion, one to one discussion with peers and faculty, debates which gives you immense confidence. It also provides tutorial for each subject in which you can ask your questions in smaller groups. The best thing about the faculty is that you can approach them anytime and for anything without any fear, whether it's a doubt in class, family problem, future tension or a nightmare for sem exams they are always there for us. The course is of 4years with 8 semesters with each semester having a sem end exams. There are 3 core subjects of the course you are pursuing, one Generic elective(GE), one Ability enchantment course (AEC) one Skills enhancement course (SEC) and one Value added course (VAC). The Core and ge are of 160 marks out of which 70 marks is of internal and 90 marksconsits of external exams. Aec, sec, vac are of 80 marks. The external exams are conducted at university level by delhi university. Student need minimum of 40% of aggregate to pass a paper. Result are published by university on the basis of grading system. The faculty and course makes sure students just don't graduate for degree but also get the relevant analytical skill, real life problems solutions and career readiness.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It DU, so i think for many students it comes down to if you are able to make it to cutt off list. So my decision was based on it. I cleared the cutt off list for english hons so i took it. I wanted to make my way for govt job, so it was all about getting a degree regardless of what subject i was getting. I think curriculum just make you educated enough to get to know but its the college life that make you come face to face with the real world. exams every 6 months i.e every semester i think its good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really like Human Geography which let me to opt for this paper. Besides theory papers, we also have practical papers every semester through which we conduct surveys, interviews, research which helps us in preparing for the real world applications as well as further academic pursuits if we want to go in the field of Remote sensing or GIS. I feel that for papers including research or management, we should be showcasing how we can mitigate them or adapt in such scenarios and also make drafts for writing a research for further pursuits. However, as the time is limited it is quite understandable as to why its not conducted. We have two exams in a year and they are quite relevant and easy
