Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum under MAKAUT is quite comprehensive, which is one of the reasons I choose this course. With making the foundation strong in first year with subjects like maths, physics, chemistry and then the core subjects in the later years. In terms of real life application, lab work, project work and projects make us ready for the industry. The syllabus is also alligned with the competitive exams like GATE.

Fees and Financial Aid

year wise fees - For the first and second semester, the fees is rupees 98,000. After those two semesters, next six semesters the fees is rupees 84,000. But for students admitted by TFW, the fees comes down below 1 lakh for four years. There is also an exam fee of rupees 1,200 per semester which is needed to pay to the MAKAUT. There is scholarship like SVMCM available, which grants rupees 60,000 anually to the financially weak students.

Campus Life

5

The experience in the campus is pretty good, with many social events occurring every now and then. The annual technical fest is called "AVENIR", organised by the tech club. The annual cultural fest named "MESMERIZER", featuring student and professional performances by fossils, cactus, etc. Their is a well-equipped library within the college campus offering a lot of variety of books, online resources, e-books. Each classroom is equipped with a smart tv and a projector for digital learning. Their is a small ground for badminton, basketball, cricket and a dedicated game room for table tennis. There are lots of clubs to join, like the tech club and, sports club.

Admission

i applied to colleges like techno main saltlake, heritage, meghnad saha institute , STCET. But I preffered this college as the fees is less compared to others. Also the college is nearer to my home, which would reduce the travel time. I could'nt make to college like Jadavpur University due to low rank. For admission WBJEE rank is required with 10+2 qualification. Students need to register through wbjee counselling, fill their preferences and then colleges are alloted according to their rank. The students need to visit the college alloted for document verification and to pay the admission fees

Faculty

4

The faculty to students ratio is 1:5, which is a very good aspect of this college. The faculties are very student friendly, and they explain each concepts properly. They conduct extra classes for students who did'nt understood something clearly. Most of the faculties are highly qualified (P.H.D from reputed institutes). Few faculies are more theory-focused and less interactive, which results in lesser understanding. There is exam for every semester, held twice in 2 years. There are also assessments conducted according to MAKAUT. The course is highly oriented to the need of the industry, with a good mix of theory and labs.

Night Life

3

Night life in the college isn't that interesting, with the canteen and library closing. Not a quite few hangout spots as the location isn't that great. The location is quite safe to roam around night, but without much enjoying, we can hang around with friends just for a walk, but nothing particular.

Placement Experience:

Well as far as mh knowledge students get to placements from 6th semester itself . Well there are placement classes from 3rd semester itself . The placement track record of the college is quite good with most year about 90% gets placed with good companies comming like Deloitte, EY GDS , JP MORGAN, Oracle , offering high amount of placement offers like around 20+ lpa . Well I am not sure about my plans maybe if the palacement is good I'll take it or will be preparing for GATE (Whose courses are also provided from college .)

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since I'm in first year so I don't got into my specialization that much , but from my knowledge we are getting knowledge about all domain in a portion which will help us in our future . This also helps us to decide that specifically which domain is best for us . Since I'm in first year so I didn't have my exams yet because of the late admission in college the reason for late admission was stay in admission by the Calcutta Highcourt due to some issues on reservation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

-> CSE is the main stream because under this, other courses like Cybersecurity can be learned as extra courses, while still learning things that are very important like DSA and DAA. -> Everything is taught slightly fast and students have to keep up everyday. Even one class missed will be heavy on studying. -> The mic quality in some classes are bad and should be improved. It's impossible to understand what the teachers says when using them. -> Usually term exams start one month after the start of a semester, with the Semester exam being held 3 months later.
