Course Curriculum Overview
My department is ECE (Electronics & Communication Engineering). Actually I want get CSE but unfortunately can't. So after CSE the most valuable and demanding branch is ECE that offers the both some CSE and some EE subjects and labs.
Internships Opportunities
Coochbehar Government Engineering College (CGEC) offers a robust internship program, actively facilitated by its Training & Placement Cell. Students frequently secure internships with prominent companies such as TCS, Wipro, Tata, Brakes India, and Techno Electric & Engineering Co. Ltd
Placement Experience
The highest placement reached 21 LPA, with an average of 3.5–4 LPA, and CSE and ECE are the most placed branches. Top recruiters include TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, L&T, Techno, and many more start-ups.
Fees and Financial Aid
Addmission fees- 13000 for CSE and ECE, Annual fees- 12000, per semester tuition fees is 6000 for ECE and CSE dept. And 3000 for EE,ME & CE. There are many scholarships for the students like Swami Vivekanand Merit Cum Scholarship (60000 per year), Oasis Scholarship for SC/ST, and other private or government scholarships.
Campus Life
Annual tech fests are byte-burst, Tech-O-Nicks organized tech events, Esparenza tech fests, code-o-thon, Hackathon and many more. The library is huge and full of books but one thing is disappointing that the most of the books are in old syllabus you have to merge 2 or 3 books to study.
Admission
My hometown is Coochbehar, also after JGEC, CGEC is the most valuable government engineering college in Northern part of West Bengal. To get addmission in this college you have to qualify the WBJEE/JEE cutoff ranks for this college.
Faculty
Facauly student ratio is 1:8 or 1:10, particularly in branches such as Computer Science and Electronics & Communication Engineering. These variations might be due to differences in departmental staffing or class sizes. Also The core branches like EE, CE, ME have good number of faculty.
Night Life
The gym, cantine, libraries are available. There have 3 merged girls hostel and 4 separate boys hostel. The distance between girls hostel and boys hostels are likely to 1km. There are huge ground to play and a night life campus.
