Course Curriculum Overview

4

Curriculum relevance and comprehensive: The curriculum provides a solid foundation , but some students feel it is outdated and not fully alligned with industry trends. Preparation for real-world applications and higher studies: Practical exposure through lab is beneficial, but my suggestion is adding more real world applications based course. The curriculum support higher studies but could integrate more. Areas for improvement: (i) Update syllabus to match current industry demands. (ii) Increase hands on training and project based learning (iii) Upgrade lab equipments for better practice exposure. Exam system and difficulty level: NSEC follows semester end exam system with internal assessment. The exam in vary in difficulty, but students can pass consistency of study.

Placement Experience

4

Eligibility for campus placement: (i) Students become eligible for 7th semester. (ii) Placement training starts in 6th semester. Company visiting and offers made: IT &Tech : TCS,WIPRO, INFOSYS and many more. Consulting and finance: Deloitte, EY etc. Product based: Amazon , Nutanix, SAP etc. Number of offers varies each year. Placement pakages: (i) Highest package: 60 lpa offered by top company. (ii) Average package: 5.3 lpa Placement percentage: Range between 60 to 70% depending on the branch and job market. My plan after getting the degree: Take up jobs in campus placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees for all students is 65000/- per semester means 130000/- yearly fee structure of btech Electronics and Communication Engineering. And scholarship is available only west bengal students, vivekanand scholarship scheme is available for only west bengal students. After scholarship you pay only 1200/- per semester fees.

Campus Life

4

(iv) Zest: Intra college sports event. Sports and extracurricular activities: (i) Facilities for various indoor and outdoor sports. (ii) Events like mesmerizer and avenir for tech based exposure.

Admission

Admission process at NSEC: (i) Admission is through wbjee and jee Main for btech program. (ii) The admission process is straight forward and based on merit. Comparison with other colleges: Faculty: Qualified and approachable, similar to other reputed colleges. Placement: Decent placement for CSE,IT & ECE but core placement need more improvement. Challenge in other colleges admissions: (i) High cutt off and intense competition in top tier colleges. (ii) Limited seats in preferred branches. Why choose NSEC? (i) Good faculties and placement opportunities especially in IT. (ii) Reasonable fee structure comprising to another private colleges. (iii) Balanced academic and extracurricular activities.

Faculty

4

Faculty- to-student ratio: NSEC has fair ratio between faculties and students. Many professors are helpful , especially in placement preparation. Course structure and curriculum: NSEC follows a semester based exam with theoretical and practical exam. While the syllabus provide a solid foundation. Exam system: NSEC has end semester exam with internal assessment, college conduct four assessment of 25 marks any one of the best of four in the internal and 5 marks of attendance and decipline in class and semester exam conduct 70 marks. Pass rate and failure cases: The exam are generally not so difficult , and most of the students pass with basic preparation. This year 70 to 80 percent students pass in semester exam.

Placement Experience:

Well as far as mh knowledge students get to placements from 6th semester itself . Well there are placement classes from 3rd semester itself . The placement track record of the college is quite good with most year about 90% gets placed with good companies comming like Deloitte, EY GDS , JP MORGAN, Oracle , offering high amount of placement offers like around 20+ lpa . Well I am not sure about my plans maybe if the palacement is good I'll take it or will be preparing for GATE (Whose courses are also provided from college .)

Placement Experience:

The senario of placement in all of the private colleges of West Bengal are more or less the same. Majority of the students are placed in Service Based Companies like TCS, Wirpo, Infosys, HCL, Accenture, Cognizent, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, etc. These companies offer anywhere from 3.6 to 6 lpa packages. Only a handful of Product based companies come in these private colleges and cherry pick 2-3 student per college only. This is the reality of all the private colleges, not just our college. If you want to crack a high paying job, you will have to do it off campus. The students are eligible for internships from the 6th semester itself. The college does try to provide internship to students but only a few students end up getting the internships and most students need to find internships on their own. Some companies which came in 24-25 session which offered an internship and PPO are Amazon, SAP Labs, Accenture, etc. For a detailed placement stat, go to our college's website and look for training and placement stats. The college is honest in putting these stats. The stats are mostly reliable. The highest off campus placement in 24-25 session was by Snehadeep De, who secured a SDE role in Amazon with 47 lpa CTC. This was off campus so the college had no role to play here. The highest on campus placement was by two students in the company Juspay. They were offered the SDE role for 27 lpa CTC. The average placement of all the CS branches will be around 5-6 lpa. And approximately around 60-65% of the students get placed. This is the ground reality. And its the same in all of the WB private colleges. If you want to keep a backup option in case you don't want to get a 3.6 lpa job then start preparing for GATE, CAT or Civil Services from your second year. Its always preferred to have a backup option cause you can't trust a private college for providing you jobs.

The minimum placement opportunities of our college is good . If you are in good in aptitude, Group discussions and your CV and technical skills are strong then you can easily crack a 7-10lpa job from our college. Overall our college provides decent opportunities for our placements but you need to maintain certain GPA to sit on those placements

After the 6th semester we are eligible for the internship, also we can apply for both on campus and off campus placements. In our college some companies like Geotech, Infosys, Code Clouds, Unibit solutions visit every year. Average package is in the range of 3.5-5 Lakhs per annum and highest package is nearly 6-7Lpa. But post covid time our placement record decreased a bit. Nearly about 80-85% of CSE students get placed every year. Also I am currently appearing in interview of different companies for placement.
