Course Curriculum Overview
The course was Mass Communication and Journalism. I choose the course so that I get a handful of career opportunities and as this course teaches me about Journalism, Advertising and PR as a whole, it is quite relevant with the real-world applications.
Fees and Financial Aid
The first year fees structure was 26000. Tuition fees was 5000, registration fees was 1000, admission fees was 5000, lab fees was 5000. The course fees for two semesters was 8000. There were merit cum means scholarship - Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum means scholarship and the amount was 24000.
Campus Life
The overall experience was quite good. As Santiniketan, Birbhum is rich in culture and Visva-Bharati is in Santiniketan, it holds culture associated with Tagore. We had organised seminars as well. We used to celebrate programmes that goes well with the University's cultural background.
Admission
I applied for the same course in Jadavpur University as I couldn't clear their exam as I was not prepared about the current affairs. Then I applied to Visva-Bharati and prepared hard got a chance to be their student.
Faculty
The relationship between faculty and student relationship is quite friendly and they are easy while approaching. Some faculties were very helpful and friendly and guided very nicely. There were 6 exams or so and the exams were both difficult and easy.
Night Life
The nightlife was quite relaxing. After we completed our university classes we used to visit a nearby stall to have snacks and tea. There were people who used to stay in hostels and the girls need to enter the hostel before 9.
