- I feel hostel food is not that good. breakfast, snacks are fine but lunch and dinner are not that good
- Some professors used to teach just by reading slides, that i didn't like
- Sometimes the cycle which we are using can be stolen by some unknown. this happened to me in my first sem but the campus authority provided one old cycle for me after giving complaint
Course Curriculum Overview
Professors designed a good plan for students for all the department students.Especially the core subject students have benifits of advanced equipments and errorless instruments .generally the mid semester exams are for 2 hrs eaach subject and end semester exams for 3 hrs.the difficulty level is moderate.
Internships Opportunities
IIT Kharagpur attracts a wide range of companies for internships. recent participation in the internship recruitment process include prominent industry players such as ACT Fibernet, Mondelez inter national, godrej, flipkart, sun pharmaceutical, jubliant foodworks, GSK, P&G, ITC limited, menon and menon, reckitt ,centuary mattress ,tata steel and many more.the institute's carrer development plays a crucial role in facilitating these internships
Placement Experience
The placements session happens in 2 sessions usually starts from 5th sem.top companies like Apple, Microsoft, Google, and capital one are known to participate in IIT kharagpur placements. last year in 2024 highest package is 2.68cr per annum. average salary was around 24 lakhs
Fees and Financial Aid
In IIT Kharagpur fees structure on semester basis .for the academic session 2024-2025. autumun semester (first sem) fees is Rs.1,56,750 1 lakh tution fee ,other than this 14,500 mess charges. 21,000 hostel fess and some fees for medical and sudent welfare, examination, electricity and water chages . In the spring semester (second sem) fees is Rs .1,45,545 1 lakh tution fees and similar as above .this fees will increase year by year. for economically weaker section they will give exsumption of tution fees. if parents annual income is less than one lakh the there will be complete fees exsumption , for parents annual income between 1 and 6 lakhs there will be exsumption of 66.66% of the tution fee ,for 6 to 9 lakhs there will be exsumption of 33.33% from the tution fee .caution fees is 4000 per sem and registration fees is 1400.there are various scholarships a student can apply like MCM scholarship ,kotak kanya..
Campus Life
there are many societies,clubs in IIT Kharagpur which are related to dramatics,tech ,business, cultural societies, and many more. in IIT kharagpur we have majorly 3 fests namely shourya ( sports fest), kshitij ( asia's largest techno management fest which is conducted by students of IIT kharagpur) , spring fest( asia's largest cultural fest). many books are available in IIT Kharagpur libray it is one of the best library in india.through societies you will get some exposure to do projects, participate in case studies and hackathons. sports facilities are to good.
Hostel Facilities
the rooms are so beautiful . in our hall for each room 4 people will be accomodated . rooms are like 5 star hotel rooms in these rooms we have kitchen,dining tale,beautiful view etc. some halls are so beautiful some are not that good compared to these. at the first day we have to reach the alloted hall which will be given in erp. and there repective persons will take care of registration
Admission
The process for getting admission into IIT colleges is JEE ADVANCED exam which is written after JEE MAINS. the counselling process is through JOSAA . this is only for getting admission in IIT's,NIT's,IIIT's.I got IIT roorkee in the first round of counselling and in the second round I got IIT kharagpur CSE. there will be a total of 6 rounds in josaa counselling. the reason that i freezed IIT Kharagpur in my second round of counselling is that it is near to our home compared to IIT Roorkee . before cmng to this college seniors told that professors to good . a student will get many opportunities to explore the field in which they are intrested in
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is used to be 1:15 in general,most of the professors used to teach too good,but some students are so, neligent that didn't even go to classes. ilike the professors who comes for our classes .i will try to all classes . coming to exams we have midsems(30%),end sems(50%),class test(10%),attendance and TA marks(10%)
Night Life
we use to roam around campus.as it is a very big campus there are many beautiful places like main building,nehru museum, helipad,vikramshila, etc. we used to go to night canteens in boys hostels . spend some time there making fun with friends, we have gym facilities in each and every hall. there is a hall culture in iit kharapur which is the competition between halls. hostel rooms are good and many more beautiful memories .
