The course is well structured covering important subjects like Coding, DSA, AI&ML. It includes practical exposure through labs and projects. The curriculum prepares students for company roles through hand on projects, hackathons and coding contests. Subjects like OS, DBMS, Computer networks provide essential technical knowledge for real world applications.

Internships Opportunities

5

During my time, Persistent System and Celebal Technologies conducted internship drives, and I was fortunate to be selected for both. These internship were unpaid but offered a PPO exam after completion of internship. Additionally, Epam system was one of the companies that provide a stipned based internship.

Placement Experience

5

Student become eligible for campus placement from 7th sem. Various companies start visiting the campus for recruitment drives during this period. Some of the top recruiters that regularly visit our campus are- TCS, IBM, EY, Deloitte, Cognizant, ITC infotech, Grant Thronton, Nutanix, SAP, Sasken Technologies, ZA associates, Alumus software. Intel has visited the campus for the last two years but hasn't made any offers. Hightest pacakage: Rs 25 LPA Average Pacakage: Rs 5 LPA Placement Percentage- 80% of student get placed each year. I received an offer from TCS for the role of system engineer in 2024 and am currently waiting for my joining letter.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure(2020-2024) 1st sem(1st year) :- Rs 74,000 (At the time of Admission) {10,000 was supposed to be refundable, but they never refund it) 2nd sem(1st year):- Rs 59,250 3rd and 4th sem(2nd year fee):- Rs 42,250 5th and 6th sem(3rd year fee):- Rs 43,250 6th and 7th sem(4th year fee):- Rs 44,250 I paid total of Rs 3.92 lakh for my B.Tech. However the fees have been increasing yearyear, and now for 2029 batch the total cost for four year is around Rs 7 lakh. There is schlorship for WB student named SVMCM.

Campus Life

5

My overall experience with campus life was incredible. I was very active in various activities and held key position in student organizations. I served as Convenor of the Tech Club and Kabaddi head of the sports club. Our college hosts several exciting annual and tech fests. The inter college tech fest, Avenir and intra college tech fest, Aavahan. The cultural fest, Named Mesmerizer. For sports we have, Infinito, the inter college sports meet and Zest, the intra college sports meets. The library offers vast collection of books and journals to support academic pursuits. In term of sports and extracurricular activities, the campus provides excellent facalities, including a badminton court, kabaddi court, gym, yoga room, football and cricket ground, tt room and chess room.

Admission

I applied to multiple engineering college including RCCIIT, HIT, NSCE . I received admission offers from all three but chose NSEC due to its flexible attendance rule, no strict uniform regulations, and NSEC was the cheapest engineering college in Kolkata. HIT and RCCIIT had school like descipline, including mandatory uniforms and strict attendance rules, which i wanted to avoid. I did not get any rejections, as I secured admission to the college I applied to. However I didnt aim for higher ranked colleges due to cutoff constraints. Students can get admission to NSEC through JEE, WBJEE and management quota. The closing rank for General category in 2024 ranged from 99621 to 1381931. B.Tech in CSE: Round 1 closing rank- 84670 Last Round closing rank- 139934 I got admission in B.Tech in IT in 2020 with a WBJEE rank of 16,234 and secured my seat in round 3. The counselling round were conducted online. The admission was smooth and starightforward. In the time of admission they ask you 10th admit card, 10th result, 12th admit card, 12th result, WBJEE/JEE result, WBJEE/JEE admit card and aadhar card.

Faculty

5

The faculty to student ration at our college is 1:35. The faculty members are very approachable and maintain a good relation with student, often providing support even beyond the class hours. The IT department has the best faculty members. My perosnal favorite are Soumen sir, Chandan Sir, Partho Sir and Sukanta Sir. Each semester consists of four unit tests(CA) and a final exam: 1. CA1- PPT Presentation 2. CA2- Report Writing 3. CA3- Online MCQ test 4. CA4- Written test Final exam - 70 marks, covering the entire syllabus The carriculum is well structured and relevant.

Night Life

4

The night life around our colleg is quite good, espically for student staying PGs and flat. After classes, many student step out at nearby cafe like Cafe adda, Matka Garam, Kaki dukan and Subrato uncle's shop. Student gather here to chat, relax and sometimes to fight(lol). For fightness enthusiasts, one gyms is there near our college. As for the locality's safety, its genreally not safe to roam around late night, avoid isolated areas late at night.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months
