Course Curriculum Overview

5

English Hons means studying or mastering one language. I have always been fascinated by the ones who have mastered the art of learniyone language fully. I could have chosen Hindi and Sanskrit as well but then I was like I want to do something which is recognised globally or I get opportunities from all over the globe. Hence, I chose this subject.

Placement Experience

5

My plans are to do masters as graduation today can give you job opportunities like our college does. From Hindustan Times to various other media houses and popular YouTube channel owners who need content are the ones who provide jobs to English Hons Students. I want to do something beyond this and therefore I will definitely approach more studies post this.

Fees and Financial Aid

HRC was once among the top DU college. In last few years, it has lost some charm but not all. However, all colleges don't have all the faculties but our college has Science, Commerce, and Arts. The fees is still in check as it is just 18000+ year. Scholarships to sports person and others are provided and obviously on caste based the scholarships are always available.

Campus Life

5

Firstly our college is built in some 17 acres. We have a cricket ground which in size and the kind of grass leveling we have can be compared with Feroz Shah Kotla International Ground. Even our basketball court is as amazing as that. Our annual fest Confluene is a social media banter as many DU students follow that not just students of our college. So, our college has covered manh aspects which others have failed in giving students a well balanced campus life.

Hostel Facilities

5

Our hostels are in campus and that's one of the best thing about them. Yes rooms aren't that fancy or the hostel is as good as private hostels but still a place to live and learn well. Fees is just 45k a year and in a city like Delhi it's beyond imagination.

Admission

Obviously I could have chosen any college which were ranked lower than ours and KMC and Hansraj were in same brackets. I was confused between the two and then I chose Hansraj as it's pedigree is better than that of KMC. Admission in DU are as per a protocol where 12th Score and CUET, and that's combination is eventually something that leads to admission in any DU colleges.

Faculty

5

There is nothing called unnecessary if our teachers give that knowledge. Yes, on occassions the knowledge looks unnecessary but rheh don't want us to promoter readers who will read what's in the syllabus. They also teach us how to apply the same in our studies as well and also in life. So, their contribution in our lives is beyond books.

Night Life

5

Our college is nearby Madhavgarh Farms and Kamla Nagar which is a fesg or a party place of Delhi is also close. So, some of the best cafes that I mostly visit are Ricos and Brew Berry. Not just fancy cafes but many Kiosks are also there serving ice creams to Momons close to our college.

Placement Experience:

placement and internship fares are regularly conducted on campus where various companies which are mostly start-ups visit to recruit students for internships and entry level roles. Students become eligible for internships from the first year itself. placement opportunities are generally available after the completion of the full degree and only final year. Students are eligible to apply for full-time rules. last during our last internship and placement fair over 20 companies visited and recruited almost 150 candidates. There are no separate records distinguishing internship from placement. The highest package reported for economics honours is around 12 lakhs per annum and the average package is approximately five lakhs per annum. As per my future plans,I intend to pursue a masters degree after completing my undergraduate course.

For USME, FMCG and Financial companies are the ones which are put in place. The only reason is that those are the companies where we can add value and placements of both courses of USME happens together and combined if I say around 75% students are placed. My plan though is to join GIPE after my graduation ends this year.

DTU because East campus is more known for USME placements revolve around us. Now core companies of our sectors are the ones that deals with finance, insurance or stocks. So nearly 20-30 companies of that space or sector hires over 100 students of BAE every year.

Many companies come as ever since USME has been installed at the east campus the tie-ups with the brands happened before that. So we were etaught accordingly the war corporate wanted us and that is how this has been done with solid precision and thus our placements have never jolted.

Campus placements have been good from what I have noticed this year. BBA and BAE students get almost the same packages and same companies hire the students. Average package for BAE students is 5.5 Lakhs and for BBA it's a little high at 6 lakhs or so.

Our college has a very active and effective placement cell. Major companies like Goldman Sachs, Bain among many others come on campus for not just placements but also internships. Average and Median packages are between 8 and 10 lakh per annum, with highest packages going up to 25 lakhs. Many also go for postgraduate education, such as MBA after CAT, or to reputed colleges like the DSE for MA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Too vague to understand, feels extra burden of unnecessary irrelevant topics , extra papers like SEC/VAC simply add to the burden while barely providing with any skills and values as their name suggests . Studying them and preparing for exams add extra stress and unnecessary burden on them , diverting their focus from their core papers , which are already too huge and they study materials or readings simply fail to assist . Areas for improvement would be - proper structured study materials , also proper structured practical subjects / papers for students where they can actually learn or gain knowledge/skills which will be advantageous in their future .
