Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum for Information Technilogy is designed while keeping the real-world application in mind. But it lacks in one area i.e. it doesn't include the two important subjects Theory of Coputation and Compiler Design, which are not so important of real world applications, but these are super important for the cmopetaative exams like GATE, BARC & ISRO entranc test. CSE have these subjects in there curriculam, it would be nice if they add these ti IT also.

Internships Opportunities

1

Internships are also similar tho the placemenet scenario, very less internship oppurtunities provided by the institute compared to other colleges. If you want an internship there is very less chance that you will be able to get an internship from college.

Placement Experience

2

Placements are below average even for the CSE and IT students, The overall placements for all the branches is not good. There are little to no oppurtunities for other branches in the in-campus placements. Students are on their own.

Campus Life

3

Cultural Fest UTKARSH and Tech Fest ATLANTUS is organized every year around november. Also the sports meet is held each year in the second quarter of the year. Most of the books are available in the Library that you might need. Most of the Classrooms are equiped with Projectors, Smart boards and White boards so there is no technological limitation. There are more than 20 clubs in the college student can join any of them as per his interest, also there is no limit on how many you can join.

Admission

I didn't applied for any other college at the time of my admission. Admission process of this college is very simple you have to give an entrance test and and if qualified you have to fill in your details in online portals and after that some days later you are invited to some venue for verification of your documents and entered details. After that portal for fee payment is opened for students.

Faculty

5

Faculty of Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Sciences and Humanities are very nice and helpful towards the students. They are also some of the most experienced teachers in the insititute. Faculty of Electronics and Communication Engineering is also very nice and helpful. But same cannot be said for the Faculty of Civil and Electrical Engineering, these teachers are helpful in most scenarios, But sometimes it just depends on their mood and your luck, Some teachers of the civil branch are super egoistic and rude for no reason at all. Exams are very easy to pass and if put in some effort you will be scoring good marks in exams. There is 1 sessional exam in middle of the semester and 1 Final exam at the end of the semester.

Night Life

3

Cafeteria is sometimes open till 8 PM and sometimes it may close 4 PM all depending upon the rush. Official timing for the campus to be closed id 5 PM but most of the time it is open till 6-7 PM and on some busy days it is 9 PM As there is no hostel in the campus so there is little to no night life for PG students But if you are renting a room then you can do whatever you want and go wherever you want to.

Placement at JUIT begins from the 7th semester, core branches like cSE see good placements while Bioinformatics has limited on campus opportunities, Most of them opt for higher studies or research roles. I planned to go for job.

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.
