Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum at JUIT covers core technical subjects well and builds a strong foundation which influenced my choice of the CSE program. While it prepares student decently for real world roles, it lacked content in area of modern frameworks. Exama re held regularly( twice a semester + end sem).

Placement Experience

4

Placement at JUIT begins from the 7th semester, core branches like cSE see good placements while Bioinformatics has limited on campus opportunities, Most of them opt for higher studies or research roles. I planned to go for job.

Fees and Financial Aid

As a B.Tech Bioinformatics student, I have personally experienced the fee structure and say it is moderately expensive but transparent. In my first year the tutution fee per semester was 1,24,000 along with one time admission fee 50,000 and a refundable caution deposit of 20,000. Hostel charges are about 80,000 per sem with single rooms costing around 7500 per sem. The tution fee increases gradually with each academic year. For SC/ST reserved categories the university offers waivers/concessions. Over entire four year course the totak cost for tution and everything is about 15-16 lakhs for general category student. On brighter side the university does offer a range of financial support options that is the William Webster Merit-Cum Means Scholarship.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is vibrant with major Le-fiestus( cultural fest), Murious(Tech fest) and more like lit fest happens, The library is well stocked with books and classrooms have smart boards and Wifi. Sports faciltiy and various clibs like tech club musical and cultural happens

Hostel Facilities

4

wifi, 24/7 water supply, bes , matress, table chair and basic amenities, but no A/C. Meals in mess are provided in rotating menu that has more varities for each different day. PGs are aound withing 1-2 km of campus radius.

Admission

I chose JUIT over others for its specialized program in Bioinformatics, decent academic enviornment and balanced fee structure. while placements in this field are still developing, the academic foundation and research focus here give a good head for higher studies or role in bio-data sciences.

Faculty

4

The faculty is quite knowledgeable and mostly approachable like you can easily connect with them, with a fair student to teacher ratio. Some professors are excellent mentors, while a few feel outdated in their methods. The course follows credit based semester system with regular minor(T-1, T-2), majors(T-3) and internal assesments.

Night Life

4

Gym closes at 10:30 pm at night, library is open till 12 in night anf on saturday and sunday during exams too. Hostel timming for girls is 9:30 nd for boys there is no timming other than first year boys.

After fifth semester you are eligible for campus placements. IBM, Cognizant, Algo8, Polaris and CITRIX and over 5000 offers are made. Highest package 42 lpa in CSE program by Algo8 and average package of CSE program is 5 lpa and for MBA is 7.5 lpa. percentage of students getting placements is 45%. My plan after getting degree is make your skill more better and good for my dream companies like google, amazon and microsoft and crack their interviews.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Updated to align with NEP-2020 guidelines starting from 2023 onward. CSE (AI & DS) branch includes modern subjects like Data Science, Machine Learning, Python, Cloud basics. Core branches (ECE, ME, EE, CE) follow standard Indian engineering frameworks with essential subjects. Syllabus similar to other govt engineering colleges under HP Tech University, so fairly up to date.

Students can sit for job drives from the 7th term. In our college, firms like TCS, Wipro, HCL, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra visit. Most jobs are in coding, support, or test fields. The top pay was around ?10 LPA for a dev job. The usual pay is 3–4 LPA for most jobs. Nearly 60–70% of CS/IT students get jobs. Core jobs are less for other fields. My goal is to work for 1–2 years in tech and then go for higher study or skill-based role in top firm or startup.
