What Students Say

Likes

The computer science faculty is really nice and understanding
The campus is surrounded by nature obviously it's in shimla
Seminars and various guest lectures are organized from time to time

Dislikes

No ground facility was provided till now
There are no hostel facility and finding room or pg is very difficult
The campus of UIIT shimla is very small, to be exact, it's just a 5 floor building nothing else

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course due to the further options I get after btech cse It does not really prepares us for the real world applications Areas of improvement can be adding more subjects and providing faculty for subjects like robotics and remote sensing Exams happen after 3 months of the semester

Placement Experience

Students are eligible to sit in placements from 7th semester. There are various companies that have visited college like paytm, zsalar, dell etc. The highest package last year was 10 lakh per annum by paytm and average is around 4 lakh per annum. Most students opt for further studies as placements are not so good. I am going for masters after the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee does not increase by that much amount. It just feels that it's high considering it's a government institute. The complete cost sits under 5 lakh rupees There are only government scholarships available such as meritorious girl child, faculty child etc. There are no campus employment.

Campus Life

The annual festival of UIIT is called UTKARSH and it is typically organized in November Mostly all the books are available in the library and you can access them any time Sports meet is organized every year and students also participate in intercollege tournaments There are lot of student run clubs such as danceclub, media club, photography club, arts club, sports club etc.

Admission

To be eligible for the course you have to undergo the entrance exam The application form and other things can be found on the website of the college. Exams happen after 3 months of semester. Difficulty level is average The admission process is preety normal. No improvements are needed.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is about 20:1. The computer science engineering faculty is really qualified and they tend to mentor each and every student in the right direction. You can interact with the teachers anytime you want to. They are very approachable.

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

Placement Experience:

third year college students are eligible for placements and intership and campus placement is good and amazon , google such big companies are visited the highest pacakage is 43 lpa and median is about 9 lpa and placement percentage is 70 and i got placement in such big companies

The overall experience of the bahra university is moderate

The campus offers a decent number of placements for the students with the companies and average package here is of ?8-9 lakhs per annum and the highest package given was ?25 lakhs. The campus also provides the way for the students to go for off campus placements too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was influenced to choose CSE without specialisation at Jaypee University because it had a good reputation also they give a choice in second year for specialisation in my interest of field like cyber security, artificial intelligence and machine learning. Exams are held here three times they teach for one month and then take exams and the syllabus for tha same is topics that are covered before the exams like classes were started in August exams were held in September first week then exams were held on October last week and then third exams were held in December before winter break

Placement Experience:

There is a sharp fall in the highest salary package offered during placements 2019 and 2020 seasons which stand 1.2 LPA and 4.25 LPA respectively. There is a fall of 13.06% in the number of offers made during NIT Hamirpur placements 2020 as compared to 2019. Awesome college

Admission:

I prepared for 2 years then cleared jee mains exam. The preparation was not hard though you need to be consistent with your studies. After the result I filled my counselling on jossa.nic.in with the priorities of colleges and branches. After that there were 7 rounds I got my seat in 6th round.

Although the mentality of students and most of the faculty is great but mentality of VCs Director and our warden is very bad they don't allow girl student to come out from their hostels after 9:30pm sharp.
