Review from a BTech Student

The course curriculum is well curated as the syllabus is being updated each year in the Board of Syllabus Meeting, which consists of professors from IITs and NITs. The curiculum is curated according to the evolving needs of the real-world. The areas for improvements should include more lab work and more NITs and IITs exposure.

Roles offered under the Btech CSE branch are like Associate Software Developer, Web Developer, and Data Science roles. The projects include some research-based projects and AI and LLM-enabled chatbots and some IoT-based projects. Websites and applications are continuously being developed.

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

The year-wise fees is around 1,20,000 and it is increasing slightly. In one sem, it is slightly high and in another semester, it is less than the previous semester. The tuition fees is around 50,000 - 54,000 per semester. The medical fees is 200, and the library and the internet fees are 1000. In one sem the amalgamated fund is 1700. Various kinds of state and central government scholarships are available based on merit basis and the students can avail themselves through the NSP Portal and verify them through the college.

The annuals fests include Sports Meet which is being held in the month of March-April and Youth Festival in October and along with this new fest as Tech Fest is being introduced in the university. Extra curricular activities includes Inter-Departmental Competitions and various days are celebrated each semester.

I applied to other colleges through the JEE Mains score, and i got admission in this university through the JEE Mains. Mainly, the students who did not get admission in NIT Hamirpur comes here. I got rejected from NIT Hamirpur. The exams for admission is either through HPCET or the JEE Mains Score. 50% percent students come through HPCET and 50% comes through JEE Mains.

The faculty-to-student ratio is 11:150 and the faculty members like Anamika Rangra etc. are good, and they have good knowledge about their subjects as their specialisation areas are DSA, Deep Learning, C, and Python Programming. The marks structure is of 40 internal assessment and 60 end-semester marks. In one semester, Mid Semester Test are conducted twice.

The campus is located in a village area. So small dhabas type are available in the locality. Campus timings are from 10-4 and the locality is safe to roam around at night. Hostels are not available at present.
