What Students Say
Likes
- The teachers are good and teach well with notes and live tasks. They are always open to help in class or after class
- Campus life is fun. We have clubs, sports, fests and events. I made good friends and joined coding groups
- The labs are clean, and we have working PCs, a big library, Wi-Fi and a good study hall. No big tech issues.
Dislikes
- Job help can be better. Many firms visit but most are for CS/IT only. Other fields get fewer offers
- The food in mess is not always good. We need more clean and healthy food on daily basis.
- Few smart boards in class. Need more tools for modern and online class use
Course Curriculum Overview
The course covers both core and new topics like coding, logic, and tools used in jobs. It helped me learn real things, not just books. This was one key reason I picked this course. We study topics that help in both jobs and higher study. Labs and tasks give hands-on work, which makes learning easy and real. But some parts feel old. A few topics are not used in real work. Some teachers still follow old ways like slides and notes only. We get two tests each term and one end test. Tests are fair but need study. Time is enough, and dates are known early, so no rush.
Internships Opportunities
Internship Opportunities In 3rd year, students get help with tasks and roles in firms. Companies like TCS, Infosys, and Internshala-linked startups offer tasks in coding, test, and support. Few give a pay of 5K–10K per month. I worked on a web app for a local firm via college. We built login, form, and report view. Learned HTML, JS, and API calls. Some friends did ML or Android tasks. All of this helped build skill and boost our job plans.
Placement Experience
Students can sit for job drives from the 7th term. In our college, firms like TCS, Wipro, HCL, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra visit. Most jobs are in coding, support, or test fields. The top pay was around ?10 LPA for a dev job. The usual pay is 3–4 LPA for most jobs. Nearly 60–70% of CS/IT students get jobs. Core jobs are less for other fields. My goal is to work for 1–2 years in tech and then go for higher study or skill-based role in top firm or startup.
Fees and Financial Aid
My course fee is 60,000 per year. It is the same for all students, no change for any category like SC, ST, OBC, or Management. The total cost for 4 years is 2,40,000. Fee includes tuition, lab, and other charges. No extra fee for caution or admission. There has been no hike so far. Some of my batchmates have got help through state or central help plans like SC/ST fee return or merit-based aid.
Campus Life
Campus life is good. We have fun fests and tech meets. The main fest is “TechXcel” (March) and “Udaan” (Nov). There are music, dance, quiz, and games in both. All students can take part. The library has good books for all terms. There are coding, GATE, and job prep books too. A few online books and notes are also given. Journals are there but few new ones. Rooms have fans, boards, and some smart boards. Labs have working PCs and net. Few rooms need update. Projector use is only in some rooms. We have clubs for coding, dance, music, art, and talks. I joined the coding and GDSC club. They help in skill and job prep. There’s also a portal for notes and club events. There is a big ground and courts for games like cricket, volleyball, and kabaddi. A gym is there too. Sports day and fun games are held each term.
Admission
I applied to AKTU, IPU, and a few private colleges. I got selected in 2, but picked this college as it has low fees, good teachers, and fair job offers. Seniors also gave good reviews about the labs and coding help. Yes, I could not get a seat in IPU due to low rank. I was close but missed the cutoff for CS. My JEE score was not high enough. I did not apply under spot round as I had already joined this college. Admission is based on JEE Main or state test like HPCET. Cutoffs differ for each branch. You need to pass 12th with PCM. I took HPCET and got in through state round. Process was easy and docs were checked online and in college.
Faculty
The teacher to student ratio is good, about 1:25 in most labs and classes. Teachers are mostly kind and easy to talk to. You can ask them doubts after class or during lab. I liked Prof. S. Sharma for coding. He gave real tasks and helped us build logic. Prof. A. Mishra also made hard parts of math easy. Some teachers just read slides and don’t help much. Like one teacher for theory subjects didn’t take doubt sessions well. The course is fine and links with job skills. We have mid-sem and final tests. Each term has 2 internals, lab tasks, and one end exam. Marks are given for test (30%), lab (20%), and final paper (50%). Exams are not very tough if you study well. Few students fail, but mostly in tough core subjects.
Night Life
Campus life slows down at night, but hostel life is fun. We chill on rooftops, walk in the ground, or sit in the mess area. Local café “BitePoint” and “Chai Adda” near gate are top chill spots. The area is safe to roam till 10 PM. Library closes by 7 PM, café by 8 PM, gym by 9 PM. Hostel gates close at 10 PM. Guards stay at the gate, and the area has lights and watch. Only hostellers are allowed to stay late inside.
