Course Curriculum Overview

2

I chose this college randomly because of my parents pressure. Now I realise the blunder I have made by taking admission here. The course curriculum doesn't prepare us for real life present industry knowledge. Teachers teach in the old backdated method using books and blackboard only. Exams are held here after every 6 months and are quite manageable.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total course fees in my college is 10,500rs. The admission and registration charges are 2000rs. Books are needed to be purchased on your own. Except this, there are no hidden charges. My batchmates pay the same fees. We do get a scholarship named Swami Vivekananda merit cum means scholarship which is a state based scholarship from West Bengal given to students who bring atleast a minimum percentage of 60% marks in their previous exams.

Campus Life

2

Fests and events are held are not done much except for freshers party and farewell. Books available in the library are very limited and are all of old editions. There are no extracurricular activities being held. There is no student club or college societies other than the students political parties.

Admission

I just applied to one more college other than this which turned out to be way bad than this. I chose this college because of my parents pressure. The admission process here is simple. You just need to apply for this college through the website called WBCAP and then you can get admission here on your merit basis.

Faculty

1

Faculty is very less so I would say that the ratio between the faculty and students doesn't match. I personally don't the professors as they are so strict and always angry and don't even teach well. Exams held here are quite easy and manageable if being prepared sincerely. The course curriculum is not relevant to today's industry knowledge.

Night Life

1

There is nothing like night life in this college. The college shuts at 5pm with which evrything shuts down. There is no gym, cafeteria and public area as such. Hostel timings are not followed by students and can get in and out anytime they want. Also, there is no any famous hangout spot near this college.

Other Applied Colleges

Birpara College | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com] {Hons.}

Because I had already taken admission in alipurduar college.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of course outdated. Teaching methods are old. No case studies, competitions or project of any sort is there in the curriculum. Although a project of 100 marks is there in the final sem, but I don't think that's enough. There is no practicality in the curriculum and usability in career. The syllabus really needs an uplifment.
