Course Curriculum Overview

4

The main reason for choosing BSc Honours Mathematics as my undergraduate course is because, since school time, I have liked Maths a lot. I loved doing Maths problems. Therefore, I decided to pursue a career in Mathematics. Therefore, doing BSc Honours Mathematics seems the perfect choice for this. The curriculum of my course mainly focuses on the theoretical experience of mathematics, which we have never experienced before. Till the 12th class, we only focus on the solving part of mathematics, but we never consider it as a theoretical subject. But actually, Mathematics is a theoretical subject. We are learning and understanding the theoretical portion of mathematics in our undergraduate course, which will help us to understand mathematics deeply. Since we have not learned the theoretical portion of mathematics before, some students consider it boring, but teachers can make it interesting by trying to include some practical elaborations so as to make it more interesting for students. We give exams two times a year and the level of the exam is from moderate to difficult. One semester exams include three main papers along with Ability Enhancement Course(AEC), Value-Added Course(VAC), Skill Enhancement Course(SEC), and Generic Elective(GE) papers.

Internships Opportunities

4

Major recruiters like Deloitte, HP, Times Group and many more offer internships to students. Profiles offered for Internships are finance, actuarial marketing, data analysis or research services. According to last year's internship statistics, the highest internship stipend offered was 60,000 per month with the average stipend of 10,000 per month. In 2023, the internship fair was held on our campus, which offers 250+ opportunities from more than 60 companies.

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible for campus placement in their third year of the course and major recruiters visit our campus like Deloitte, ICICI, TCS, Accenture etc and 200+ offers were made. The highest package was 36.50 lakh per annum whereas the average package was 10.40 lakh per annum. My plan after getting the undergraduate degree is to pursue Master in Mathematics from a Higher Institute.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year-wise fees of my course or I can say tuition fees of my course is 27,970 per year. Categories like General and OBC have to pay this amount whereas SC/ST has to pay slightly less than this, that is 27,785 per year. I belong to a general category, therefore I have to pay according to it, whereas some of my batchmates are from the SC or ST category, therefore they have to pay it according to their category. There is no other extra caution or development charges, but I have to pay exam fees every semester which varies according to the choice of my papers. There are different and many scholarships that our college provides on the basis of financial need as well as merit based such as Premvati Raghubir Singh Scholarship which awarded 600/- every year to those students who have obtained first division in the last examination taken. We also have other scholarships such as B.P. Ram Kishan Dass Scholarship, Rai Achhru Ram Scholarship, S.P. Raina Memorial Scholarship, Ganpat Rai Gopal Devi Merit Scholarship and many more.

Campus Life

5

The name of the annual fest of our college is Mecca and it is typically held in April or May month. There are a large number of books and journals present in our library and it is easily accessible we can issue it using our student ID card. The projector is available in almost every classroom. A large number of extracurricular and sports activities are offered by our college which include Basketball, Volleyball and Badminton competitions and many more along with extracurricular competitions such as music, drama, dance competitons etc. There are a large number of societies present in our college, such as Dance, Music, Drama, poetry etc. According to me, overall campus life is amazing and totally worth it. My experience in my college has been amazing until now. The teaching faculty is very friendly and helpful in nature. They guide us at every step.

Admission

I applied to Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, as well as Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. And I got confirmed admission in all these three universities. But I chose University of Delhi because my first priority was Delhi University for my education purpose. The admission process of my college was available on the Common Seat Allocation System portal. The eligibility for my course is to have Maths in Class 12, and the exam for admission to the course was Common University Entrance Test. The cutoff of my course for the General category went up to 696/800 in first round. Overall admission experience happened quite smoothly for me, but it was a bit hectic and stressful.

Faculty

4

The faculty-to-student relationship is quite approachable. Many of the faculties are very friendly and help students a lot. Our Mathematics Faculty is very nice and I like it a lot. According to me, it is one of the best faculties. There are no such faculties that I didn't like. Every faculty is different and is correct according to their place. There are two semesters in a year so we give two different exams in a year and the level of the exams is moderate to difficult. I do not have an exact number of how many students failed to clear the exams, but they are pretty less as compared to the students who passed and topped the exam, our course curriculum is very relevant and we learn a lot from our course, which will definitely gonna help us in our future.

Night Life

4

Students usually unwind after days of classes with a cup of chai from Sudama Tea Stall and a plate of Maggi from Tom's Uncle Maggi Point or visit their favorite cafe nearby. Our college usually opens around 8:30 am and closes around 5 pm. My favorite hangout place is Kamla Market where we can go shopping and also enjoy street food. There are a lot of cafeterias in Kamla Nagar such as Momo's Point, Starbucks and many more. I think the locality seems safe when you are traveling with friends at night.

Other Applied Colleges

Banaras Hindu University - [BHU] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Mathematics)

Even though I got a seat at BHU, I didn't opt for it because my priority was Delhi University for education purposes.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
