The Hidden Gem of Trivandrum- SCT College of Engineering

Our Curriculum is good but could've made a bit more informative and innovative. There are certain topics which are outdated. So, exclusion of those and the addition of modern topics would've been useful. Also, the need for non credit subjects are yet unknown like ethics and the Indian Constitution. These subjects are okay but with a hectic schedule, these subjects bring additional stress.

College placements vary from year to year and from department and department. The candidates' skills are also crucial in this process. Last year, many students got placed in good companies like Tata Consultancy Services, Bosch, etc. The starting packages are okay but with time there are great potentials for increased payment and benefits.

I have joined the college in merit category. For my first year, I paid about 59000. As for the second year it has reduced to 54000. The payment includes the fees for labs,tutuon fee,PTA,college fest and miscellaneous.

Even semesters are the best as many socail activities take place. Cult away is the college fest which is absolutely fun and enjoyable. Other than that, there are arts fest, sports, and activities during Holi, Onam, Christmas, valentine's day and many more. The participation is amazing and the vibe is so good. There are many clubs in the SCT college which are technical as well as non-technical such as NSS, IEEE, Evogen, Meckartans and many more

The hostel i am currently staying at is very nice. The food is very tasty. Rooms and bathrooms are cleaned every week. Meals are provided three times a day with a tasty evening snack. Every room has its own bathroom and there is a common bathroom on every floor. The hostel staffs are very polite and caring. There is space for playing baskeball, badminton etc. The sky view is beautiful during sunrise and sunset.

This is a government college. Hence, it is more preferable than private college. Studying in a government college is really an aspect. This is the only government college in Kerala which provides course on biotechnology and biochemical engineering. Also, the teachers here are absolutely fantastic. Apart from the small campus space, the college vibe is nice.

The teachers are very nice. Most of them are well educated especially in the biotechnology and biochemical engineering department. They are very dedicated. Although, exams are conducted with the aspect of marks and not to check how much a student has learned thoroughout the sem. Exams are sometimes very tough.

The college campus is usually closed after 6:30pm on normal days. But in case of arts fests or the college fest preparations, college will be working for a bit more. The college does not have its own hostel but it has a variety of college approved hostels. There are many places to hang out around such as temples, the Karamana river and many. It is a safe place as the natives here are good and humane.
