Likes

there are opportunities to learn academically.
many extra curricular clubs and sports events are there to showcase our creative skills.
the boy to girl ratio is 1:1. but could vary with what department you choose.

Dislikes

the college ground and the campus is small.
there are different unions to be a part of.
the canteen may have disappointing food sometimes.

Course Curriculum Overview

the course has a lot of technical side. for computer science especially, coding is important to have knowledge of. the college can have more experienced staff who are helping. the exams are conducted at the right time and there are assignemnts which need to be completed on time.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 80000 per year

Placement Experience

students start receiving placement opportunities from 7th semester. the average placements especially for compuer and electronic departments are very good. placements for all different companies for mechanical and biotechnology departments also come. the highest usual packeageis around 10 lpa. around 80% students on average recieve offer letters.

Fees and Financial Aid

yearly fee for merit seat is around 50k to 60k and for management seat is 70k to 80k. for other reservations the fee can be very less( depending of the fee waiver). multiple scholarships are available from state and other sources.

Campus Life

the college has an annual fest conducted by the seniors during the month of april-may. it is called cult a way an is conducted at Kanakakunnu grounds in Trivandrum. a wide avriety of clubs are available at college.

Admission

applied to a lot of government colleges. this is also a semi government college and is good on its own. i did not qualify to the other colleges to the higher mark criteria. the admission process is done via KEAM. you need to have a minimum pass percentage (check google for KEAM exam qualifications and details for further information).

Faculty

there is ample faculty in the college. the faculty is always availoable for help. the faculty is also very old and has a lot of experience. some teachers may not have all the experience. but a lot of material and sources for the course are available online. exams are there twice in a sem. the course curriculum is also relevant

Night Life

hostels are available for men and women espcially for women with good food. the curfew is susually at 8 in the evening. Trivandrum is a big city to explore witha wide variety of food spots and a lot of places to explore

Remarks:

Positive remarks is the college is autonomous because we are directly under the Cochin University of Science and Technology. So the CUSAT name plays a big role in whole Kerala. The certificate has a big value. In case of negative remarks, some works are not doing properly, like small maintenance work and all.

A quick sneak peak to SCT College of Engineering

I acually applied for Emmanuel college vazhichal for the curse of biotechnology andbotany . I got the admission right away but the problem was with the distance. A closer look at the hidden gems of campus living

I totally applied only to three colleges. I choose this college because at that time it was in top 11 colleges in kerala. On the trial allotment itself i got merit seat in this college.This college was near to my home district. I didn't get rejected from other two colleges . To get admitted We have to clear keam exam conducted by the kerala government. To have a merit seat one must have comparatively good rank. Seats are also available in management quota and nri. Sree Chitra college of engineering - this is where i belong

This is the top 2 college in my district which is best for the placement and best interships. i also approached for college of engineering trivandrum which is the most best college in our state.these two are same for their curriculum and subjects which differs them is the interships and placements the cet offers a better placmenets than the sct .due to its his demand i didnt get admission in cet due to low rank as compared to sct.
